Hi Pete - Thanks for the compliment. Sector two was a bit of a challenge I can only imagine the frustration with Sector 3/Dry. The "Beginner" label on these AMG Driving Academy challenges is misleading. I'll sector 3 a try this weekend.MyOwnWorstEnemy Today, 05:01 AM

A lot of diecussion here of lots of points.
It is clear that this won't be something to put in play by any one person commenting right away.
Read your reply Jace, thanks for the feedback and as I think about it I do think there has been inconsistency in some of your messaging which creates unnecessary squabbling. But this isn't the place for that. Phone discussion someday to clarify. I do think that undue negative drama will ensue
Sadly what is going on here is why at one point ALL DK scores above 1 million had to be done live right? Now we have something that is going to make MAME submissions a lot of work for people. Every score is going to have to be checked for this anomaly going forward which makes it a huge pain for adjudication. Basically one bad apple has spoiled the bunch and it sucks because mame has a lot of competition and fun to offer and now its going to be scrutinizeddanman1234 Today, 06:17 AM
My 2nd space taxi score was approved and same issue. The floating point number was converted and the decimal basically not counted. Is this impacting ALL entries that use a floating point number? I'm concerned because how many of these records will need to go back and check they are correct? Is anyone actively doing this? In this case it makes the score truly impossible. I'm guessing
May I make another suggestion?
I note that,on occasion, an expert such as gstrain has been willing to accept the validity of a contentious INP if the player was willing to stream live on another occasion in such a way that they could interact with him (and others) during a game. Presumably, this is so that he and/or other spectators could make live suggestions that the gamer would have to perform to prove that the game is live.
ZOMG it's gone insane.
In a few months someone's going to want a secondary camera to film the 1st camera being turned on, so we will need to employ somebody.
And if you stream, you will need to film yourself streaming. Then scan your iris with your phone for biometric verification.
Then call TG to ensure it is actually your phone and your iris.
You points are all excellent but I immediately see limitations which permit two other possibilities.
- Limit #1: assuming there is only one PC involved.
- Limit #2: using a batch file which hides other activities.
Most PCs are networked these days and so the "showing of files" (or that files do not exist) is also easy to manipulate:
Step 1: Show the file (or lack of)
Let me help clarify here -
In order to achieve the MARP-known circumstance, a user must perform a series of acts that are OUTSIDE of WolfMAME itself. This is impossible to do when a camera is showing the player, his controls in use, and the game being played all in the same camera frame.
If the controls are not shown in frame with the player, it would be possible to create a recording of the gameplay using the manipulation
I will "keep" myself dumb now for the sake of others explaining what you have typed here in simpler terms. Correct me if my understanding is not correct. Let me break the scenarios down what you have listed.
Scenario 1: Commandline startup and record (like wolfmame 167 with no GUI and only a CLI):
In this scenario we have to let the user show that after record.bat was started, but
I would like to help clear things up because my interpretation of your comments that "tg is being aloof" and that "the community is thrown under the bus like has happened in the past" is that they are a little passive aggressive based on some possible frustration with me not "doing something."
Let me make sure the facts are clearly laid out:
1.) TG always has recommended that
Point of order 1: I'm guesstimating I won't get through my backlog of prepared submissions for about two years and these include 300+ MAME inps (many not submittable here but need sifting through). What consideration by the community is there of historic INPs where no such footage is available?
Point of order 2: In order to ensure video footage prevents (as best as is possible) the MARP-known circumstance, it is necessary to show the
Since it is up to the community....
In biblical times we could have marked someone's threshold in lamb's blood, but since we are in the social media era....
Someone needs to photoshop a mame video requirement meme to paste into new mame submissions that do not meet the new expectation...
And Jace, since you are keeping TG hands off from this policy decision, does it also mean that you will not throw the community
Sory, what I meant was in context of streaming live and making the video with OBS at the same time. OBS do that in the background. Having quality and real-time over internet limited bandwith is not possible in my circumstances but I can do the video (more than one recording screens/settings /playing and before after in one sitting in front of the pc without live streaming. I have played around with hundreds of times with the settings, set OBS atfrancoisadt Today, 12:30 AM
I still never learned how to run mame from the commandline, I guess the 106 GUI version made me too lazy. :D Yes, I know I need to start using a newer version. So for that version, I would open OBS, it will then display my desktop, I would then open my wolfmame folder, click on the executable, GUI opens, navigate to the game, right click, play and record INP(which 106 generates WLF also) it then asks where to save it,then play the game, game over, creech Today, 12:29 AM
I agree, if one open commandline manually (cmd) and not run the record.bat but rather type it in :
cmd> move all *.cfg, *.ho, *.nv, *.dif
cmd> mamearcade galaga -record galagatestrun.inp -nvram_directory NUL
Keep the cmd as part of the video,
when gam ends it will shown .. INP file written
at prompt CMD> dir inp\*.*
will show the just now created INP file with the date
Agree, its cumbersome to do. Also in circumstances, like myself, I do not have the bandwidth to stream LIVE all of these videos/setups, I myself have listed below as additional over OBS. Not all gamers be able to stream LIVE via twitch, then would a full video, end to end, show all aspects as suggested, all angels be acceptable?francoisadt Yesterday, 11:57 PM
PC bootup footage will require either a second computer (no problem for some of us) or a video capture device (phone, video camera) that will then have to be fiddled with to get the video uploaded.
I use Open Broadcast Software on the same machine that MAME is running. I open OBS, get the WolfMAME command line ready, have a powershell script ready to gather my video, screenshots, INP after each attempt.
Booting my PC will
Hi Fellow Gamers
We now have an opportunity to improve our MAME submission adjudication process.
This issue was now clearly come to the surface not only by one submission - Galaga but also Pandaroas. Please read and replay at:
This is therefore not only a Galaga issue , one submission problem but
How is this going to come about Jace?
Let us decide on voting their has to be a committee of trusted Twin Galaxies members with years like Robert, Mark Andrew that have heavy back ground on MAME and members of MARP and Referee of MARP who are current members of Twin Galaxies. Jace Suggestion others with Video discuss it for a few weeks and decide the needed recommendation that are needed and Vote the house senate final tally
