This article represents a significant step forward for Twin Galaxies and its growing community.

While H1Z1 is only one game, and there is still a long way to go, the growing market respect and awareness surrounding Twin Galaxies authentication and validation is an important thing for all members and will allow for more opportunity in the future.

What do you think?
For Echo Fox, TwitchCon 2016 was a test—a very important one. The H1Z1 Invitational at the streaming giant's annual convention was the final stage of a long process it hopes to use to shake up its esports recruiting process.

It paid off. For months Echo Fox scoured the Twin Galaxies leaderboard to help find exceptional H1Z1 players for its new roster. Twin Galaxies, acquired by Echo Fox CEO Jace Hall last year, is a site that tracks video game world records and great plays. That new roster was then to compete in the H1Z1 Invitational, a test of sorts to see if the recruiting process worked. And it did. Echo Fox’s Czech player Radek Pozler took first in the tournament’s first match, earning more than $40,000 in prize money. Clement "JerkChicken" Graham took fourth place for Echo Fox, earning more than $13,000, in match one as well. Not bad for Echo Fox’s first move into H1Z1.
Its success convinced the organization the Twin Galaxies model of recruiting actually worked. Now Echo Fox has a whole new way to scout potential players.

I read the article. Nice work to everyone involved!

Damn...that's quite a nice amount of prize money won by Radek and "jerkchicken" Graham.

Jace...how does the divvy on the prize money work, ie...do they get it all, or does the team get it, then pays them some or a %?

Different teams handle prize money splits differently. It also depends on the cultural tournament history of a particular game as well.

For instance, the prize split for teams that play CS:GO tend to be different than teams playing League of Legends. So it always varies.

Sometimes the player gets it all, and sometimes there's a split between the player and the team organization.

The H1Z1 Invitational prize money was pretty good, but we hope to have a much larger prize pool for the professional Arcade League that we are quietly working on...

So why is it that 99% of TG members don't adjudicate those games?
  • alarm

There's people that put up scores here on serious ass games that kick that games ass. It's just because it's their game. I bet 50% of the people can play that game and deliver.

Jesus, creech is off the meds again....

I was watching the Tuesday show last week on Ultrachen.tv. I was playing Tetris on my GameBoy while listening a to what was said. They were talking about Figthing game player Justin Wong leaving Evil Geniuses, quitting his day job and moving to socal because he was signed by Echo Fox managed by "can't remember name" and Jace Hall.

"Wait! what did they just say!?"

Played it back and sure enough, Jace Hall. Had no idea Jace was CEO of Echo Fox? Justin must be getting some serious coin to quit his job and move.

I'm assuming most gamers adjudicate what they're comfortable with, or maybe have in interest in? I presumed that's how the system is supposed to work in a way -- each platform or game genre has its own adherents/community, and in most cases that bunch of folks will adjudicate on related games. I had no idea what H1Z1 was a few months back, I watched a few streams on TG, really took to it, and now I'll watch streams and adjudicate when H1Z1 submissions come up.

I think it's great to see Twin Galaxies make in-roads into different gaming communities, and build awareness around TG for new generations of gamers.

Pretty polarizing issue.
Being honest-I don't much care for modern games. I respect them, they are obviously AWESOME, do NOT get me wrong.
I just choose to play "older" games, as my personal preference.

I don't know exactly where the line would be drawn, but there is a relatively clear difference in modern gaming and classic gaming, and it can be seen in home game systems all the way up to...ummm...Dave and Busters.

So, if it was up to my "preferences", this site would be exclusively classic gaming.

How hard-headed is that? How wrong is that?
Very.

This doesn't just apply to the gaming world. There HAS to be a place for everyone, equal representation of opinions to be considered.

Agreed, Evener-I mostly adjudicate on systems/games I am interested in, and even judge things I am not familiar with, if I am aware of/"trust"the submitter.

I know how passionate the players of modern games are, no question. Increasing their involvement here can only benefit the community, and if they have enough involvement, adjudication shouldn't be a problem.

I'm only pretty sure this even relates...I dunno what H1Z1 is...
