Dear Community,

Adding new gaming platforms to the database requires a certain amount of resources (for instance we need to create all the icons/art.) Due to this, we only add platforms periodically.

We have now come to the time where we can add some platforms and so we wanted to reach out and get some suggestions!

Other than the Nintendo Switch, what new platforms would you like to see added?

Famicom, there's 689 exclusive titles released and Super Famicom have 1,011 exclusive titles released!

I'd like to offer up the Coleco ADAM computer system for consideration:

As mentioned in the post, the ADAM game library is unique but not particularly large. If there is a preference to establish platforms for systems that have a more extensive library, an approach could entail simply expanding the existing ColecoVision platform to "ColecoVision/ADAM" rather than establishing an independent ADAM platform, if we follow the logic of the Gameboy / Gameboy Color example.

I would also suggest for historical completeness a platform for the Arcadia 2001 - aka the Emerson console family. In Canada the Emerson console was known as "Leisure-Vision" so if there is interest, I would ask that the platform rules indicate that the Arcadia 2001 as well as international Emerson-console compatible systems are all valid in the track for submissions.

Can we not just add those under existing NES/SNES categories, just labeled as NTSC-J ?

No disrespect to the above solutions but those are currently included as a subset of current platforms. Outside of the Nintendo switch I think all that's left is a split. I'd like to see non game and watch LCD split from the Nintendo game and watch. It sounds like other people want regional splits which honestly the way esi works makes sense. Currently someone could work the system by submitting pal and ntsc whereas splitting them would make esi more meaningful

If we're looking at second generation systems, the Emerson Arcadia doesn't have a category (all eight of the other main systems of the 2nd generation do). Plus, if it were possible, I wouldn't mind seeing some 1st Generation systems show up. Granted, I know that's mostly Pong and Brick Breaker, but still I think it would be interesting. Lastly, to build on the previous comment, if there were to be a split of LCD games from the Game and Watch category, how about one for the old Tiger Electronic LCD games?

+1 vote for Famicom and PC Engine!

How about all EMU Console score under one "platform" and separate it like MAME and Arcade are?

Instead of mixing EMU scores for a SNES, under the same platform as a original hardware only SNES submission.

What if Steam had it's own category. Because PC and Mac are a little too vague. (Modern gaming sliding in here)

With systems like C64 Amiga, Pippin and other odd systems, parts are nearly impossible to get and even if you do, NOBODY repairs em so the Raspberry PI is nice till they finally come out with an all around system!!!!

I hate emulators but the sad fact is they may become more needed soon!!!!!!!

I think that's a good idea. At least I should bring it and try it, when I have 2 plug and play systems.

+1 for Steam too.

And how about we merge Xbox 360 and Xbox Live Arcade? PlayStation 3/4/PSP/Vita and their corresponding PSN?

Theres a new one small board emerging, Orange Pi PC. I think that both Raspberry an Orange Pi could be added.
