Recently, Ernest Cline, author of Ready Player One met his heroes Walter Day and Billy Mitchell at Classic Game Fest - and point blank stated that "there would be no Ready Player One without Walter and Billy!"

Ernest then credits Walter and Billy's historic efforts as Twin Galaxies for the birth of eSports as well as having a significant impact on the culture of competitive electronic gaming!

It is both wonderful and exciting to see how much of a positive impact Walter, Billy and Twin Galaxies has had in the world. Twin Galaxies and its whole community hopes to continuing that legacy.

Lastly, Ernest mentions in the video that his wife, Cristin O'Keefe Aptowicz (and current Twin Galaxies member - Coaptowicz) is the current TG World Record holder on Intellevision's Utopia!

We checked the database and she sure is!

Verified on October 23, 2016 via TGSAP! Way to go Cristin!!!

If you played video games in the 80's, buy the book Ready Player One. It is highly entertaining.

The movie looks very promising. Congratulations to Twin Galaxies, Walter Day and Billy Mitchell!

We are all part of this very special community and it seems that big things are just over the horizon. I can't wait!

Ready Player One and Armada are both GREAT books. If you like audiobooks, Wil Wheaton does a great job on both.

Cant wait for the movie.

I was a bit dubious about Ready Player One, but read it anyway. It's good! My fear was that it would ignore the 80s, but it's in there with honor. (no spoilers given I think). Read it, it's good.

Why would you think it would ignore the 80's? The entire thing is just vomiting up all the male-oriented 80's references it can shove in there.

Did you not feel that the book gave adequate exposure to female oriented references? I only ask because this was a topic of discussion that my sister and I had after we both read and loved the book.

No spoilers.

Because I figured the emphasis would be on more modern gaming. I also would have no idea how female characters were handled until I read it. I'd also say that one of the best players in the book was female. Unfortunately much of gaming at that time was male dominated. Perhaps you could write a novel that handled 80s arcade games and make it more female friendly. No sarcasm, please do better, I'd love to read it!
