Hi All

We noticed that few variations have negative ESI . This is due to the "In Process" submissions . The ESI calculations are based on ranks and we were excluding the "In Process " submissions while calculating ESI which resulted in negative values.

Now if a user submits a score and it is " In Process" then the ESI will be calculated and added to his overall ESI.
Once the score is accepted and his/her previous score is removed then the respective old ESI value will be deducted from the Final ESI.

So in essence we will award additional ESI when a new score is submitted.

Let us know if you have any questions or Concerns

Well the vote on current submissions doesn't even work that great anyway as mine don't always show anyway

To me both things are equally important.

I like seeing accurate ESI but I see the other side and I think the problem can have significant impact over the more heavily contested consoles (Atari for example)

But I really like seeing the in-process stuff. It definitely gets factored into games I'm going to play next. For example, there is a current in-process score on Bugs Bunny Crazy Castle on Gameboy. I also know Ben is planning to submit again. I'm going to pick the game up pretty soon and get in on it because the in real time competition to me is fun. I think in-process is a benefit to those games/consoles that have a bit slower adjudication times. Not because I need to see my score in the ranks, but because I want to see what others are doing.

I would be fine with a separate box for in-process scores above the current rankings. If there are no in-process scores it is empty, or even invisible, and when there are some it shows up.

Yes but the one I pointed out is missing. Betting it's on it's way to acceptance so not showing. There was 2 scores earlier for this same game that were not showing then all of a sudden they were accepted

Having had many back and forths over the course of the last few years, I've always found it very easy to just watch the submission thread to see who is competing on a specific track. TG has also made this easy to accomplish by allowing one to sort open adjudications by console, game or player.

Regardless as to what TG concludes, I sure hope it's a simple fix that won't generate endless inquiries due to complex methodology.

my issue of conflicting ESI i resolved. on a platform, it shows PSI for the platform granularity if you click on a specific track (as well of course as the tracks ESI). how bout that, PSI still exists, just hidden, and its been displayed now there

Yes. It forces one to do some math eh?

This issue has been brought up by several people for some time now without any reply from TG. @Dave Hawksett is aware of the inquiries.

PSI: How can I miss you when you won't go away?

Hi All

We really thank you for your feedback on this issue. The problem here is not pertaining to the "In process" submission only.

When score is ranked on the leaderboard then the ESI for the full leaderboard is recalculated . So in current scenario(and in the past too), the system will not only bloat the ESI of the submitter it will recalculate the ESI of the other players on the leaderboard .

This according to us is more pressing issue than the bloating of ESI. The problem is that if a rank is calculated then the ESI must change as per the formula.

ESI VALUE = (X + 1 - Number of Players on Current Rank)+ [(X + 1 - Number of Players on Current Rank) * (1 - (AverageRankPercent/100)) * ScoreRankPercent/100)].

It would be really helpful the community helps us with this issue.

Hi - I'm more than happy to help / contribute to a solution but I'm not 100% sure what the actual issue is based on your comment. As stated, the ESI equation includes an average calculation. Any new submission increases the population of the submission on that leaderboard, and therefore the mean is adjusted accordingly. Are you indicating we need to change the ESI calculation, asto not impact the ESI of others on the leaderboard, when a new submission is submitted (in process or fully adjudicated)?

Sorry if I'm coming across as thick but not sure if I'm following along.
