Adjudicating my tuchus off

I've adjudicating in overdrive, admittedly with ulterior motives. I've been hoping if I help clear the queue out then it will make my remaining submissions more likely to go through as well. That doesnt seem to be happening though as I'm just one vote on many submissions. However, if I've voted on any of your submissions (you being anyone reading this) then perhaps you'd like to return the favor?

I'm officially 15h place on atari 400 esi, but should be 7th (possibly even 6th if my math is off by a few points). Do you know how frustrating it is to earn my way into top 10 but not get credit for it due to a slow queue? and then even climb up to 9th, then 8th, then 7th, and now brushing against 6th but still not get acknowledge as even top 10? I'd greatly appreciate help in getting my submissions through faster, even just 1 or 2 so I can get my top 10 spot official.

Twin Galaxy May have Set for it or Tell Us Something. I love that We See the Video Submissions and Adjudicate that is Perfect But How Many Votes are actually Needed to be Voted In is a Huge Mystery Question

I believe the number of votes required is set during submission time. It is part of an advanced secret formula. There was a glitch one time where it displayed how many votes were required. Rudy and I both saw it. It went away after a few hours.

I like to believe that the holidays (and all that comes with it, including travel, etc.) contributed to the slowdown in adjudication. Some people are probably taking this week off as well. My guess is that the process and approvals will pick up again in another week.

Re: ESI rankings, your projections should be enough inspiration. (I restarted my personal tracking for the C64, admittedly.) But there's always the thrill of "seeing your name in lights" and moving up the charts.

I have observed that glitch twice: in March 2015 and July 2017.

On both occasions, the poll closing dates (for open submissions) and voting results (for open and closed submissions) were clearly visible.

If I recall correctly, the number of required votes was not disclosed.

People are still submitting. If the queue leveled that would be one thing, but things are being submitted faster than they're being adjudicated. I think a few of us are gonna have to just take it on ourselves to make up for the others not adjudicating. I know I'm more motivated to vote on scores of mass adjudciators than mass submitters. I'm gonna try to show my gratitude to those who adjudicate by adjudicating their stuff as a prioirty and hopefully others wil do the same for me

TG should consider lowering the amount of votes needed to help clear the backlog a bit. This will not affect the adjudicators ability to adjudicate. It will make everybody happy. :)

Does TG even acknowledge what's going on with the queue right now? It's a huge turn off to see so many quick watches sitting in the queue for no reason. More folks are steadily submitting as well keeping the queue just as big and daunting.

I like to get a wild hair and spam scores sometimes but right now I refuse because I think (my opinion and that's it) spamming scores with this current situation is just as much the problem as the time it's taking for scores go through.

Please @TWIN GALAXIES make 2018 a great year for the non-esports community that makes up the majority of the user base.

Cheers Bill, and Happy New 2018! :)

Yes, my hopes prior to my first submission early last year, was that if I should lend my support in adjudicating others' submissions, they'd step up to adjudicate mine. I'm fortunate it worked out that way, because folks like you did so, and I got about eighty or so votes, woot! You're also correct that there're more submitters/submissions than there're adjudicators, so the queue continues to grow. That's fine I guess, things'll go through eventually, not all is at a loss. I wish I could do more, but on weekdays, with two jobs, my time is limited.

By the way, jjt_defender's boasted he's got almost 15k successful votes, that's stellar. However, he's got a long ways to go to catch up to those of us who've done more. In my case, I've gotten over 22,400 correct. I'm not stating this to show off, but in hopes to offshoot jjt's misinformation that he's adjudicated more than anyone else, that's not true. He does have the Most Thanks/Like and Most Forum Posts, but those aren't really trivial, are they now?

P.S. If anyone's interested, Chicago radio station 97.1 FM - The Drive is currently in the midst of their A to Z, currently on the S's, you may listen online at www.wdrv.com (they also have a mobile app). It's cold here, hope everyone's staying safe, healthy, and prosperous!

P.P.S. If the submission review queue's search specs aren't cutting it for you, use the Advanced Search folks: http://www.twingalaxies.com/search.php?search_type=1&contenttype=vBForum_Post&forumchoice[]=446

@stella_blue do you have stats showing how many adjudications occur per day/week/month? I wonder how many scores have gone through under TGSAP vs the ref method.

I think as a show of good will, @jacehall should vote on all scores. We can see his cred go up as he does.

I have 12 World Records (and climbing) in the queue... so I know what you mean Snow :)

I have noticed the adjudicating by some members; Thank You !! But I agree, still slow moving in general.

I'm doing my best to get to everyone's subs ... but darn, there's a lot out there :)

I promise to get to all of your subs !!

It still seems like there has been a lot more active adjudication than there have been scores going through though, I know many are working hard to adjudicate, myself as well, but the acceptance pace doesn't seem to show it.

I think all our efforts will hit soon, not quite at once, but in a wave.

That's a good point roger. I've noticed the adjudication algorith, however it works, does seem to have time as a component and not just raw votes, as there does seem to be certain moments where a huge rush all get accepted. hopefully a rush is coming up soon. I've crossed into platforms i'm not comfortable in and had to learn new games. i guess its a good education and it'll make adjudicating there easier in the future, but it was effort for sure.
