Some of you may have noticed that Twin Galaxies recently upgraded the user profile pages and specifically improved the ABOUT ME section to allow members to formally summarize and document their gaming resumes with a professional and consistent look.

Twin Galaxies has not officially announced these changes due there still being some minor bugs and features needing to be addressed. These items should be completed soon.

However, as a preview I would like to strongly encourage all members to fill out their user profiles with as much detail as possible. I will explain why further below...

While there is a separate RANKINGS tab on user profile pages that provides a summary view of all Twin Galaxies documented achievements of the user, Twin Galaxies does not yet have a way of automatically knowing about all of a member's total achievements across their entire gaming career.

This new ABOUT ME section of the profile page is designed to create a single location that allows members to compile a summary of everything they would like present to the world as their total competitive gaming profile.

Members should feel free to write as much descriptive text about themselves as they feel they need to, but whatever is written must be true and accurate.

They should feel free to insert links to non-TG competitive gaming scoreboard achievements, or local tournament results information, or wiki-type documentation they may know is available about themselves as references. Essentially everything and anything they feel is important for people to understand the scope of their competitive gaming experience.

HERE IS WHY:

Sponsors, advertisers, team organizations, video game developers, video game publishers, media outlets, and distribution platforms currently have no quick, clear and standardized way of finding video game playing experts for whatever purposes they may need them for at that moment. The current methods used by these entities are all over the place and incredibly frustrating and inefficient for them. It literally stops significant opportunities for video game competitors of all types, every single day. I have extreme first hand personal knowledge and experience in witnessing this, rest assured. Growth is being stunted big time due to lack of quick and comprehensive reference accessibility.

I definitely know that are many here who might have already had some real opportunities already if a proper system existed somewhere that allowed them to be found. There is so much opportunity, hyper-specific custom opportunity (you would be so surprised) that simply can't find you today. Truth.

So Twin Galaxies is taking steps toward solving this.

TG will be spending quite a bit of time money and effort educating the aforementioned entities about the profile system. It will be making them aware, supplying regular compiled lists to them (sorted/filtered by whatever context they need at the time) and constantly promoting the profile system.

Due to the business relationships TG maintains, the likelihood that this system will be effective is fairly high, and those who are in the system presenting themselves professionally with as much accurate information as they want to promote, will stand to benefit from this.

Now it is true that a member may not want a potential opportunity to PM them to see if they are open to an appearance fee, endorsement, commercial, media opportunity, etc. etc. and that is OK. They can always say no - but at the very least with the profile system the opportunities can finally have a chance to present themselves as options over time.

I think most importantly, to be able to showcase all of one's gaming achievements (not just TG's) in one simple accessible place is a nice thing to have at minimum. So that's why it is here.

SPECIAL NOTES:

Member profile pages will soon have friendly URLS. For instance mine would eventually be: www.twingalaxies.com/jacehall

So it will be very easy to refer people to your profile, and search engines will be able to find and promote your profile information.

Again it is up to each member to decide how much they care about people knowing about all their gaming achievements. I'm just letting everyone know that if they put the information there, it will get promoted globally by the system and TG will be directing important video game industry entities to this profile resource.

Also, all Twin Galaxies associated leagues and tournaments will require VERIFIED account status and by default this will create a base profile - so the community should expect the wider eSports community to start to participate in this more and more - which again will increase the profiles of everyone in the system.

I hope that made sense.

Will there be opportunities for users to add links or pointers to other gaming related profiles or sites that are not currently listed? For example, I've been streaming to Mixer instead of Twitch, and the former is not supported nor is there anywhere to put it. I'd like to point to my Xbox Live profile too. And things like that.

Yes we can definitely add Mixer.

For now you should put all links you would like to include in the "Other Interests" section of your profile. All hyperlinks will become clickable.
