The Fox squad have managed to maintain their grasp on the 1st place tie after taking down the Golden Guardians in the North American League of Legends Championship Series.

It’s been a rough few weeks for Echo Fox as they battle for the top spot in the NA LCS, but their performance today has allowed them to maintain their position in the four-way tie for 1st place, taking down the Golden Guardians to close out the week. Here’s a brief breakdown of the match.

Echo Fox took the lead quite early thanks to some impressive jungle pathing by Joshua "Dardoch" Hartnett. Though the Golden Guardians were able to respond with kills of their own, in addition to multiple objectives, Echo Fox were able to keep their lead throughout the early game thanks to their superior laning skills. Both teams clashed over major objectives such as Dragons, though neither was able to definitively win the engagements, leading to something of a stalemate.

Team fights seemed to go in the favor of the Golden Guardians as they took the kill lead of the game, and Echo Fox did lose the gold lead at one point after a series of unfortunate engagements. Echo Fox did manage to correct their course after securing the Baron buff however, and used the extra power gained to rapidly secure multiple objectives and establish a strong lead.

The final push saw the Golden Guardians giving up more and more, before a last ditch engage saw Echo Fox turn the tides of battle and claim multiple kills as they pushed to end the game. With this victory, Echo Fox retain their spot in the four-way tie for 1st place, as the competition continued to heat up.
