Florida Mayhem Will Be Making Three Team Announcements (Updated)

The CEO and founder of the Florida Mayhem, Ben Spoont, revealed some details of the roster announcement he has teased to fans.

The Florida Mayhem did not have a successful Stage 1 of the Overwatch League, as the team finished in eleventh place with a record of 1-9. A big factor in the disappointing performance by the team was their small roster size, as the team currently only has 7 players. While larger teams had the ability to sub players in and out to implement different strategies, the Mayhem had to stick to what their small roster could do and if a player was struggling the team did not have the option to bring in a fresh face.

Looking to give the Mayhem fanbase some good news to look forward to, the CEO and founder of the Mayhem, Ben Spoont, teased a major roster announcement on his Twitter. Since then no word about any roster moves for the Mayhem have come to light, until now. Responding to a tweet from a Florida Mayhem fan that was expressing their disappointment in having to wait for the teased roster news, Spoont revealed that there will be three announcements made regarding new members to the Florida Mayhem, and that one of these members will be officially revealed tomorrow.

With a wide pool of Overwatch League caliber players and coaches still not on a team, the Mayhem will be able to add some talent to help fix the problems that plagued the team in Stage 1. With Stage 2 of the Overwatch League beginning in 10 days, it is highly likely that the other two members will also be announced soon after tomorrow's reveal.

The Florida Mayhem will be hoping that these new roster additions add some extra firepower to the team.

(Editor's Note: An earlier version of this article stated that the Florida Mayhem will be adding three new players to the team with the first one being anounced today. At this time, it is not confirmed if three new players will be added to the team, as today's announcement revealed that Hyun-Jin "r2der" Choi would be joining the team as an assistant coach. The Mayhem have confimed that more announcements will be made in the coming days, but the exact nature of these announcements are unknown. Our changes reflect the announcement made by the Florida Mayhem today.)
