Many of the star players in the Overwatch League play the damage per second (DPS) role for their respective teams. The Pacific division has some of the brightest DPS stars in the world, leading their their teams to glory.
Every member of an Overwatch League team is vital for the team to have success against their opponents. There is one role that must be played to an extremely high level if a team wants to ascend past the rest of the competition and challenege to be called the very best. This role is the damage per second (DPS) position and it requires players to utilize quick reflexes, accurate aiming and an agressive playstyle to lead their teams to victory. Not every player is suited to be the focus of a team's damage dealing strategy, but there are a handful of players in the Overwatch League who fill the DPS role so well that it is evident they were born to born to play it. These are the DPS players that have supplied more than enough highlight reel material for their teams in the Pacific Division of the Overwatch League.
Lane "Surefour" Roberts is a starting DPS player for the Los Angeles Gladiators. While the Canadian born DPS player does not put up gaudy statistics, he delivers his best DPS play in clutch moments that are often the difference between victory and defeat for his team. Utilizing a wide hero pool, Surefour brings a good deal of variety to the strategies that the Gladiators are able to employ during a match. The star player for the Gladiators is especially prone to delivering highlight plays with Genji's Dragonblade ultimate, as he seems to always pick the perfect moment to pull out the dangerous ultimate ability and use it to its fullest potential. A wasted ultimate is a rare sight from the former Cloud9 player. Surefour will need to continue his clutch play if the Gladiators hope to become more consistent in Stage 2.
Brady "Agilities" Girardi is a substitute DPS player for the Los Angeles Valiant, but sees a great deal of playing time for the Valiant. Best known for his impressive Genji play, Agilities causes constant havoc for his opponents. A mastery of the cyborg ninja's enhanced movements allows Agilities to constantly avoid damage from his enemies and puts him in prime position to deliver as much damage as possible. The young talent is also no stranger to heroes like Junkrat and Pharah and can deliver highlight performances with said heroes when called upon to do so. As the Valiant look to continue their success into Stage 2, it will be no surprise to see Agilities helping to lead the way.
Andrej "BABYBAY" Francisty is the player that the San Francisco Shock look for to deliver the necessary eliminations to push their team to victory. Another DPS player with a very wide hero pool, BABYBAY is able to always pick the correct hero needed in a certain situation to give his team the best chance at victory. Whether it be an impressive headshot from Widowmaker or a rapid succession of eliminations with McCree, BABYBAY routinely delivers a play that has fans dropping their jaws. His best performance of Stage 1 came against the Boston Uprising in a 3-2 win. He was able to provide his team with 73 eliminations from eight heroes and take out any kind of opposition the Uprising threw his way. San Francisco will need their star player to continue his high level of play if they hope to improve on what was a shaky Stage 1.
Hyeon "EFFECT" Hwang is one of the Dallas Fuel's starting DPS players and is looked upon by his teammates to deliver the consistent damage output that is needed for an Overwatch League team to succeed. While the Fuel did not have as much success in Stage 1 as they were hoping for, EFFECT was one of the highlights for the team with his impressive play. Known for being a very strong Tracer, EFFECT is able to fly around the map and grab elimination after elimination for his team. His potential was truly shown in a 2-3 loss to the Boston Uprising where the star player provided his team with 84 eliminations and showed the whole league the massive damage he is able to inflict on his opponents. Dallas will need EFFECT to play to the best of his abilities if they hope to have a successful Stage 2.
Byung-Sun "FLETA" Kim is one of the many talented players that grace Seoul Dynasty's roster. Many believe that he is the best DPS player in all of Overwatch and his play during Stage 1 had no trouble reinforcing that idea. Deadly accurate with both Widowmaker and Pharah, it is hard to go a match without seeing FLETA make a shot that has the commentators and crowd bursting with excitement. One of FLETA's most impressive skills is his ability to land direct rocket hits on enemy Pharahs. Having a keen sense of where his opponent will move to in the air next allows FLETA to lead his target perfectly and land rockets that the majority of other players are not able to hit. With the aerial superiority that FLEAT provides, Seoul Dynasty are always in the discussion for being one of the very best teams that the Overwatch League has to offer.
