You may know the players, but how well do you know the people whose voices you hear during the games?

When it comes to the big flashy plays in League of Legends, it’s usually the players who come to mind first. The xPeke, the inSec, names of moves that immediately conjure up a specific action associated with the player who performed it. But how often do you pay a thought to the people commentating the game itself, the people who hype up all the action. Let’s take a look at some of the people who you might hear every week, but might not necessarily know too much about.

Trevor “Quickshot” Henry

Hailing from South Africa, Quickshot has been a mainstay in the EU LCS since its inception back in 2013. A play-by-play caster, Quickshot has been one of the voices you would have heard calling all of the amazing moves that the players make, whether it be a base race, or a teleport flank, Quickshot is the one keeping the fans up to date with everything happening in the game at any given moment.

Martin “Deficio” Lynge

A former pro player himself, Deficio is one of the colour casters of the EU LCS, having been helping to make the calls since 2014. Known for his incredible insight into the teams, as well as his on air chemistry with Quickshot, Deficio has quickly become one of the more memorable casters in the EU LCS and beyond. Though he recently announced that he will be stepping back into a freelance casting role, Deficio will always be one of the favourites for the EU LCS.

Andrew “Vedius” Day

The other colour caster in the EU LCS, Vedius got his start doing amateur tournaments in the UK, as well as posting strategy videos on his personal YouTube channel. Not afraid to make the bold predictions, Vedius has often been a champion of the EU LCS when it comes to international events. He has his own series on the LoL Esports YouTube channel where he discusses the current meta, and how that will affect which champions will be seen.

Daniel “Drakos” Drakos

Drakos has been casting for a while. Before joining the EU LCS, he was part of the broadcast team for events such as the 2015 League of Legends Master Series Summer Playoffs and the Intel Extreme Masters San Jose tournament. A play-by-play caster, Drakos is the one to get things hyped while calling all the action that happens on the field of battle.

Devin “PiraTechnics” Younge

Another of the play-by-play casters, PiraTechnics got his start by casting the English language broadcast of the Tencent LoL Pro League from his bedroom, while also writing team profiles and covering amateur tournaments. PiraTechnics has been the voice behind some of the more exciting events in the EU LCS so far, and seems set to keep making these moments as clean to follow as possible, while still being thrilling for the viewers.

Aaron “Medic” Chamberlain

The final play-by-play caster, Medic covered amateur tournaments while studying medicine at university, and while he managed to graduate and practice medicine as a doctor for a year, he eventually made his way back into the League of Legends scene. Having good chemistry with Vedius, Medic looks to build on the technical knowledge that he has demonstrated, and bring more coverage of all the action that happens in the games of the EU LCS.

These are the voices that you hear when tuning into the EU LCS, and are the ones responsible for keeping the fans up-to-date on everything that happens during the games.
