Tank players are integral part of an Overwatch League's team success, as they are the absorbing the majority of the enemy team's damage, while carving out enough space to allow their teammates to do their jobs effectively. The role of the tank player is not a glamerous position, but it is the difference between a team succeding or faltering against their competition. There are many talented tank players in the Atlantic Division of the league, but there a few who consistently put their teams in position to win. 

Lucas "NotE" Meissner

NotE is a starting tank player for the Boston Uprising and played a major role in the team proving its doubters wrong in Stage 1. Specializing in the use of D.Va, NotE is a consistent force for the Uprising on offense and defense. During the Uprising's five game win streak, NotE put together a string of very impressive performances that showed the rest of the league that he was a player that should not taken lightly. His best performance came against the Los Angeles Valiant, as the the talented D.Va player was able to utilize all of her abilities to the maximum to secure 41 eliminations to only 21 deaths. His strong performance pushed the Uprising to a 4-0 sweep over the Valiant, along with many other strong victories. 

Jae-Hui "Gesture" Hong

Gesture is the main tank of the Stage 1 Champions London Spitfire. While Gesture does not put up many jaw dropping performances, his real valaue comes from his ability to use Winston to clear space for his talented teammates to do the most ammount of damage possible. Utilizing Winston's jump pack to the fullest, Gesture is able to break up groups of enemies and get them into vulnerable positions to where the DPS players of the Spitfire can pick them off. The talented tank player delivered one of his best performances in one of the most important matches of Stage 1 for the Spitfire. In a 4-0 sweep over the Seoul Dynasty, Gesture was able to grab 38 eliminations to only 21 deaths and gave Seoul a great deal of trouble. Gesture's strong fundamentals allow him to help lead the Spitfire to victory in a majority of their matches.

Matt "Coolmatt" Lorio

Coolmatt is one of the starting tank players for the Houston Outlaws. A extremely talented D.Va player, Coolmatt knows the character inside and out and uses this knowledge to put himself in the best position to succeed. Coolmatt was instrumental in Houston's impressive Stage 1 performance and was the driving force for their playoff clinching win against the Boston Uprising. Collecting 64 eliminations to 35 eliminations, the D.Va specialist was able to perform his tank duties and wreck havoc against anything the Uprising threw at him and his teammates. The Outlaws will be looking for Coolmatt to coninue dominating with D.Va in Stage 2 of the Overwatch League. 

Tae-Hong "Meko" Kim

Meko is one of the many talented players that make up the roster of the New York Excelsior. A strong D.Va player that can easily make the transition to Roadhog and perform well, Meko is a powerful force in the middle of the Exceslior's team compositions. Known for landing impressive hooks with Roadhog, Meko will often have the casters of the Overwatch League pondering how he was able to pull it off. The best example of his versatality with these two heroes came in the Excelsior's 3-2 victory over powerhouse Seoul Dynasty. Collecting 39 eliminations with D.Va and 19 with Roadhog, Meko had answer to everything Seoul tried to throw his way. Meko will need to continue his strong tank play for New York to have a chance of becoming Stage 2 champions. 

YoungJin "Gamsu" Noh

Gamsu is one of the starting tank players for the Boston Uprising and was instrumental in the team's surprise success in Stage 1. While his tank counterpart on the Uprising, NotE, may put up the more impressive numbers, Gamsu's biggest contribution to the Uprising is in the same as Gesture to the London Spitfire. Mastering the use of Winston's jump pack, Gamsu is not afraid of diving right into the front line of his opponents and causing as much disruption as possible, while giving his teammates enough space to operate. One of Gamsu's strongest performances was in his team's 3-2 victory over the London Spitfire. Collecting 51 eliminations and relentlessly diving to disrupt the Spitfire's coordination, Gamsu would not allow the Spitfire to execute the kind of pushes that they are able to against other teams. If the Uprising want to prove that their success was not a one time ordeal, Gamsu will need to be at the front leading the charge.
