Open world games have the opportunity to give player expression. Take Just Cause 3 for instance. It’s full of silly maneuvers and those that can pull them off deserve a solid round of applause. What’s even greater is that despite the multitude of tools at your disposal in Just Cause 3, the player involved does it on the bare minimums - the grappling hook, a flammable canister, and some impeccable timing.
