The recently released first person shooter is looking to make a name for itself in the esports industry, and it will have its first chance beginning March 30th.

The first LAN event for Battalion 1944 will be taking place from March 30th to April 2nd as part of the UK Masters at Insomnia62. The Bliztkrieg Open Champion will see attending teams competing for their share of the £10,000 prize pool and working to establish themselves as the top team in the developing Battalion 1944 esports scene. With the Blitzkeig Open Championship being an iSeries tournament, competing players must bring their own computers to the event.

The championship team will not only recieve the grand prize of £5000, as each player will also recieve in-game gold weapon skins that will memorialize their victory at the event. These skins will be tradeable one-of-a-kind items that are personalized with each player's name.

The Plays will be operating the Blitzkrieg Open Championship, as they have been the main organizer for Battalion 1944 competitions with their weekly "Bliztkrieg Battles". Dustin "dusT" Mouret and Vince Hill have been the main commentators for these competitions, but the official commentary team for the Bliztkrieg Open Championship has not been announced yet.

Bulkhead Interactive are the developers behind the recently released Battalion 1944. A World War II style shooter, the goal of the developers was to create a game that would capture the mechanics and competitive nature of earlier Call of Duty titles, such as Call of Duty 2 and Call of Duty 4 Promod. These two titles are considered by many players to be when Call of Duty was at its very best and had a very passionate competitive scene on PC. Many of the talented players from these titles will be expected to make their way to compete in Battalion's first LAN event.

This will not be the only major LAN event for Battalion 1944 this year, as the Battalion 1944 team has stated that they will be supporting three more worldwide LAN events in 2018.

You will be able to watch the Bliztkrieg Open Championship action unfold on The Plays GG Twitch channel and the UK Masters Battalion Twitch Channel.
