The Los Angeles Gladiators announced the addition of the former London Spitfire player today.

The Los Angeles Gladiators finished Stage 1 of the Overwatch League with a 4-6 record, and while they showed flashes of brilliance, inconsistency doomed the Gladiators from making the playoffs. In order to strengthen the roster and help to eliminate the inconsistency from Stage 1, the Gladiators have officially signed Chan-hyung “Fissure” Baek to their roster. The announcement was made in a press release on the Gladiators' website today, but was first reported by ESPN's Jacob Wolf earlier this month.

Fissure will be joining Aaron “Bischu” Kim and Luis “iRemiix” Galarza Figueroa on the frontline of the Gladiators. Having seen playing time for the Stage 1 Champions London Spitfire and South Korean Overwatch powerhouse KongDoo Panthera, Fissure is a very talented player who should immediately contribute to the Gladiator's success.

David “dpei” Pei, head coach of the Los Angeles Gladiators, had the following to say about the signing of Fissure to the team.

"Fissure is incredibly talented and knows what it means to be at the top. We think he will be a great addition to our team, and we're really excited to have him on the Gladiators."

Gladiators' Director of esports Charlie Lipsie believes that the roster is only going to continue to get stronger.

"We are very happy with the communication and coordination we displayed in the first stage. The entire roster works so well together already, and we feel we’re ready to add onto this working system and grow to our full potential for stage 2 and onwards."

Los Angeles is hoping that Fissure will be able to help bring the same winning culture that he experienced with the London Spitfire over to the Gladiators. With the Gladiators' first match of Stage 2 against the San Francisco Shock taking place tomorrow, the Gladiators will have a chance to try out Fissure in multiple team compositions.
