What Street Fighter III player picks Remy when a tournament is on the line? You're about to find out as this one cleans house in a highlight from the 2018 Cooperation Cup!

One character victory runs in notable tournaments are always an amazing thing to see in person. When they happen after one team is on the brink of elimination, it’s even more amazing. When they happen with a character who’s been disrespected by the community for a decade? Well, see for yourself.

Lucifer/Pierrot is the Remy player who mounts a miraculous comeback against five other high-level Street Fighter III: Third Strike players to claim victory for his team. The event in question, Cooperation Cup 2018, is a 5-on-5 Third Strike tournament that sees the strongest players from Southeast Asia come together and duke it out. This incredible comeback secured Pierrot’s team a spot in Top 8.

The character in question, Remy, is often maligned and seen as a weak character for a multitude of reasons by fighting game fans. As we’ve argued in the past here at Twin Galaxies, just because a character is perceived as low-tier doesn’t mean there aren’t some tricks up their sleeves - and Pierrot proves it here.

Even though the Dudley player is able to pull off some nice moves (check out that parries against that Remy super!), he unfortunately doesn’t link the jumping heavy punch into the standing heavy kick that would have sealed the deal. Pierrot is able to instantly punish with a somersault and take the win to for his team. Taking chances no one would think of and succeeding with them in the end? Now that’s a play among plays. Tip of the cap to Pierrot.
