August 6, 2004 - Fairfield, Iowa -- Twin Galaxies, the international Scorekeeper for the world of video game and pinball playing and the publisher of the Official Video Game & Pinball Book of World Records, will be conducting a high-score championship at the California Extreme, scheduled for the San Jose Civic Center the weekend of August 7-8, 2004.
Called the West Coast Classic Video Game Championship, the event will crown the champions on numerous arcade titles to be announced at the show with the top three finalists on each title winning championship certificates and listings in the forthcoming Official Video Game & Pinball Book of World Records.
And, on Saturday afternoon, the 7th, Twin Galaxies founder Walter Day will be joined by video game superstars Donald Hayes, Billy Mitchell, Brian Kuh and Dwayne Richard for a panel discussion titled: “Classic Gaming as a Competitive Sport is Growing.” Some of the topics to be discussed are:

- Why today's classic gamers may be better than the champions of the early 1980s.
- Capturing a world record on a classic game - is it more practice or more innate talent?
- Tips on how to capture a world record - what games are begging for a new record?
