The above is interesting - Especially if one believes that such times never happened and were falsified. One would think that David Crane would be quite motivated to say what is and is not possible with the code he wrote. One would think that Activision would not want to mention scores they did not...

Yes. We will eventually implementing a way for all NES original / emu titles to exist on the same leaderboards. Then users will be able to filter sort. So it will be possible to see all the scores on the leaderboard, or just the scores for original only, or for a specific emu, etc. TG has a...

Submissions for the NES platform must use the original NES platform. That is what that platform category is for. The NES is a specific piece of hardware, and unlike a PC, never intended to be altered by consumer. Not sure why there is any confusion about this. There currently is no Analogue...

The site had to go through some internal upgrades. We needed to move the system up to php 5.6 as well as the vb underpinnings needed to upgrade to 4.2.5 We were experiencing errors on the server side and we had to address. This meant that we had to rebuild the php modules which then...

The attachment issue has been addressed. Your submission now has the attachment connected. In the future when you encounter a problem like this, a simple PM to Twin Galaxies can get it looked at. There is no need to directly insult the staff with name calling or insulting people's...

The attachment size limitation for a zip file has always been set at 30MB. It has never changed. If you are trying to upload a file larger than that, you need to host it elsewhere. We will look further into the matter.

Member HugDD asked me to provide any information I could to aid the adjudication (please remember I can not vote): The video result you see is typical of a team play result. When playing as 2 player team, what happens is that only one of the team members actually gets the formal final screen...

In the situation with Todd's score you already have something that has been "proven." You have built a model that can not validate the score, therefore you are assuming the "proven" score to be invalid. You do not accept the existence of the score as valid, which would then make it be "proof" that...

First of all, your confidence is fantastic. You are appreciated. :) Now on to the discussion: This is a highly flawed conclusion that still revolves around the concept that if no one else did it or got close, your model must be true. You have absolutely no verified data on how many...

This is true. What I believe is also true is that no one has even been verified to get a 5.54 in all that time and you are looking at Todd's screen right here with that on it: http://www.ataricompendium.com/game_library/high_scores/dragster_5-54_todd_rogers.jpg The plot thickens... :)

I want to be clear that the other arguments you have been making are very compelling and logical - you definitely know your stuff - which is great - but the above particular line of thinking is exactly what Twin Galaxies has to guard against, so I would prefer that we try to avoid it. The...

You are correct that the CPU clock is key but please understand that the 6507 processor inherently relies on the Y1 quartz crystal as it relates to voltage (see schematic) and the frequency of the CPU clock is externally controlled by this crystal by design. That means that the crystal is providing...

Ok let's get into it a bit. Here is a schematic of Atari 2600 hardware: You will notice that I have circled two areas In both of these areas (Y1 / Y2), a quartz crystal is in place to dictate timing for the various power/display/computing needs.

I believe the above statement to be true which is why I would contend that the answer to how it could be possible for Todd to achieve that time is not purely within the code analysis but it would be within the physical hardware execution of the code. That would mean that this is something that ...

It is very possible that the TAS analysis does not accurately simulate the ROM timing running on the original Atari hardware. Especially when it comes to matters of perfect clock timing. In fact there may even be subtle differences between a heavy six Atari and the follow on models that...

I think that this is a dangerous analysis. If in fact Todd actually performed a 5.51 and can perform it again, him doing so will undermine TAS in a very pervasive and damaging way. It will call into question the accuracy of these types of "after" simulated analysis's. Stakes are high on this...

While you feel that your request for preserving "code" tags is a very minimal request, since your intended use is for the purpose of MAME analysis reporting, the fact is that leaving "code" tags open for you leaves them open for everyone and therefore they can be used by anyone for all kinds of...

I'm not sure how else to communicate to you that these tags are being eliminated on purpose. It's not because we don't know what they are. We know what they are and do not want them on the site. Just like on Facebook, Youtube, and etc this type of BBCode functionality is non-existent for very...
