Marathon record attempt: Kicker

Estel Goffinet is attempting to break the existing world record marathon score for Kicker for arcade.

At the time of this posting he is currently just shy of 36 million points.

The current record is 46,276,700 set by Greg Laue on 2011-12-27. This game was approximately 36 hours.
Estel is attempting to beat this record with a secondary goal of going 50 hours on a single credit.
He is no stranger to this title owning both the Twin Galaxies Extreme Settings and Marathon settings record on Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator (MAME)

Thanks for the plug Craig!!! I ended the game at 31 hour 40 minutes with a final score of 50,000,000. I felt really good throughout the marathon and learned quite a bit. Being my first marathon attempt, I wasn't sure how I would feel.

I only had one small minor set back of rolling my men count from 256 back to 0. I never played the game long enough before to figure that out lol. This caused me to have to wait an addition 10 hours before I could take my first break.

I had an amazing time and I just wanted to say thanks to everyone who dropped by The Place, Retro Arcade and the chat. Now its time to start planning my next marathon and looking to double my current time if not more.

I tuned in off and on during the run. Well done, Estel! That's a hell of a run on an intense game. Congrats again!

Nice job! Was this the score you were looking to achieve and are you happy with it or what would you like to get on it in the future?

I'm definitely happy with this score but I plan on pushing it even higher. Going to shoot for 100 million+. Hoping to make it 60+ hours for my next marathon.

Aim high and even if you don't quite make it you will still have a mega score!
