wow! awesome score! Great job!
I'd love to see this video also and see his skills.
More then doubling the current record is an amazing feat.
I've tried myself for a month or so lately and can only average
around 200-250k on a good game. I started out by playing
the game on 18 @ 99 and 19 @ 99 settings and going to a million for practice.
On the tournament settings I'm trying different techniques for
completing the waves. I havent found a sure fire way to deal
with the end of a wave when you have less then 3 baddies and then
the baiters start to come out realy fast.
Some of those golden age scores sure are tough to beat! But to just about double it.Quote:

except these stargate (and defender) scores seem to be with 5 (or maybe even 7) lives.
the scores from the 80s for stargate (and defender) were with 3 lives.
I do not know why the rules would be changed in general and
particularly since I believe 3 lives (for 1 credit) is the default.
perhaps the criteria for other games were also changed.
if the more recent scores for these games are indeed with 5 (or more) lives,
then they do not beat the ones from the 80s.
Check before you post!
5 lives and no extras! These are TGTS (Twin Galaxies Tournament Settings).
Helps against marathon scores, and shows more skill.
Oh and 5 smart bombs only also.

I actually did look at the 'rules' before posting.
I figured the current scores were suppose to be with 5 lives,
but the slight doubt was from the setting of 7 lives for a 2 credit game.
that being said,
the scores from the 80s were still done with 3 lives and no extras
(ships, bombs and quantities of inviso).
