At the top of the Friends & Contacts page, there are instructions for removing or adding users:
"To remove a user from your contacts, un-check the box associated with their avatar and click the 'Save Changes' button."
My question is a simple one:
What box?
There are no such boxes anywhere on the page.
For the record, I do not plan to remove anyone from my list of friends.
I'm just wondering why the instructions specify an action that cannot be performed.
The instructions are out of date as I'm sure you aware (I'm guessing this is the point of your post anyway). Clicking the "X" next to the user name will purge the user from your list.Quote:

While the instructions are out of date, the X on the far right is self explanatory, assuming of course you visually have an X on the far right side! Without an X, I can see where this is super confusing.

I see, you clicked on your profile and clicked Social. I clicked my avatar icon on the top right and clicked contacts. Okay, thanks Max, it's all sorted out now. :)

By the way, I just noticed another glitch.
Navigate to the Social tab on your profile page, then click either "Following" or "Followers".
If you scroll to the bottom of page 1, the names on page 2 will automatically load (then pages 3, 4, 5, and so on). Once you have reached the last page, an endless cycle begins:
- Scroll to the bottom of the page
- The items on the final page are appended to the list . . . again
- The 2 preceding steps will repeat ad infinitum
Just to update this thread. There's checkboxes now when navigating to Contacts. Someones been doing some reading. :D
