Snapshot from my 29 mil game.

When I got 14M, back in 1984, it took me 11 hours. So I'm guessing this took you 24 hours or so?
What secret methods were you using to bump up the scoring rate so high? When I was going to go for the marathon record I was after a 27 million point score from Elijah Hayter. He played the game normally and was getting just under 600k an hour. Took him about 49 hours to get the score. I came up with an aggressive method to score faster and was getting right around a million an hour. I beat his score right around 27-28 hours. I played a few more hours killing off my men and grabbing a few more points. I went 32 hours. I cant see how anything over 1 - 1.1 mil per hour is possible.

What I would do to be able to go back in time and have a smart phone back in those days. The things I could have took pics of and filmed would have been so cool and I would be able to remember the exact score. :-) Honestly, it was so long ago and chances are the score was in the low 12M range. 12M and some change makes much better since in a 11 hr. window. It's just hard to remember after 30 yrs. I'm 100% sure it was no lower than 12M but from what you said about scoring, 12M seems to be the correct number.
I do remember qualifying in a event and killing the other two chances off ASAP. I also remember skipping some events to get to others that may have been higher scoring. I had men to kill off and I probably skipped the high jump a lot. The mall opened at 10 and closed at 9 so there has to be a way to score over 1M per hr. because I did it. The score will never count and I'm certainly not going to lie for no reason. :-)
Really like to concentrate on the WR single round once my perfect Pac Man has been done. I played to a high degree BITD and still can rip it up on the speed front (100m 7.67 & 9.96 110m hurdles recently) but would have to polish up on the hammer & high jump. These always never held my interest BITD as basically all T&F cabs were set to continuous play. My 6 finger technique is still OK, even though I'm 46 now ;)
I used to love trying to get a 99.99 hammer throw but I only got 2.48 on the high jump one time. I think it bored me to a point.
The cab we had in our arcade was set to a single round for months but the attendant changed it to continuous play as I asked them to do so. They lost money that way though and eventually changed it back.
Congrats Blumphy! Keep it up! What events do you have the most trouble with?
