Pretty obvious what happened here. I had seen about the existence of the bug on the score track, but that's all I knew. After it happened to me, I looked onto it, there's a technique to fire rapidly all the way across the screen-that's NOT what happened. There were actually only 5 bots on the screen, and not a whole lot of firing going on.
Was a bummer, had a decent score going.
Funny, tho.
No rush, not in a hurry to get to it @RaGe , but would it be acceptable to use the debugged Berzerk rom for the Berzerk track?
I have had a couple of runs now that were on track for a good score, and blown it with the bug.
Again, I've seen a way to intentionally trigger it, but when the game gets fast it can happen accidentally, just from enemy fire I think. Is usually right when you walk into a room and more than a couple of enemies fire at you at once.
Pretty funny, tho. Def. Berzerk!
Didn't think of that, and it makes perfect sense-is actually an interesting angle to keep up with, being scared of it bugging out.
Understood, and I Agree now!
Right! You're always on edge...I love it! This is one I'll be getting back to in the future, obviously :)
I WILL be intruding on the general multi-system racing game scene that you and JMB dominate soon, I'm decent at it, but getting the top Vectrex spot is most definitely a goal(I got a MAME DECO record today, and played 2600 most of the rest of the day, so no rush, haha!).
It just wouldn't be fun if no one else was doing it.
No way I will ever play Burgertime on MAME again-unless someone beats my score. I don't think it is a competitive thing, because I'm not too competitive. It's a personal goal thing, if you set something to shoot for, it makes it more fun.
I want to submit on more Vectrex tracks that don't have scores yet, they are good games, but without a score to shoot for, it is hard to really gauge how well you are doing.
