    I like this game! Although it seems the way to score points for the MAME decathlon is to warp to level 20... Tricky for keyboard players like me and means that I tackle less boards .... :( Also #1, I have a question:

    :arrow: Will there be a separate tracked record on TG for \"I, Robot\" with demo mode off (Eg \"DECA 2008 settings\")? I guess if so the same would apply to Xevious.

    Also #2, I found a great page on the net that talks about this game - see http://manfreda.org/LordFrito/I,%20Robot/trivia.html

    Here's a quote: \"Around 1,000 games [ie units of I, Robot] were produced, but due to the above problems Atari only sold around 500 of them. Rumor has it that the remaining 500 units were sent on a freighter to Japan and the crew were given instructions to dump the games into the ocean half-way there. Somewhere in the middle of the pacific lies a bunch of brand new I, Robots!\"

    Nooooooooooooooooooo! :shock: :shock: :shock:

    I,ROBOT LEVEL 1 TRICK (the saru3000 technic)

    ++++++ I,ROBOT LEVEL 1 TRICK (the saru3000 technic) ++++++

    It is important to know that you earn a live every 20K but you can not have more than 5 lives.

    The level 1 is the only place in all the game where a part of the board is like a montain.
    That means that you can be as high as the birds and you can then shoot all of them.

    Shoot a birds give you from 25 to 500 points depending of how far you are from the bird.
    If you are point blank when you shoot the bird it is 500 point each time.

    All what you kill during the board is multiply by the point of view coefficient.
    The point of view go from x 0.5 (over the board like from a plane) to x 2.0 (ground level from behind the robot).
    Use button 1 player and 2 player to change point of view during the game.

    That means that if point of view is x 2.0 when you kill the Bird point blank you get 500x2=1000 points each birds.

    So how many birds can you kill ?

    You get 17 birds during the time allowed by the board.
    Means 17x1000=17000 points.

    But the first one is nearly impossible to shoot and time run out before the 17th reach point blank.
    Means 15x500x2 + 1x100x2 = 15.200 points.

    But when you are waiting for the bird on the mountain, you will quickly see that the mountain is two square wide but the birds can arrive on three square wide.
    That means that in a random way some of the birds will fly over the cliff of the mountain and i said random.

    But how random ?

    5 of the birds will arrive on the first square
    The 11 other birds will arrive on the mountain or over the cliff.
    The fact is that you can shoot birds over the clif but you have to shoot while moving down the cliff.
    If you do not kill the bird it is possible it kills you while you move down or while you move back up quickly to shoot at the next bird.
    While doing this, you will most of the time get a 250 point.

    But you also have to finish the board?

    Best time you can do on the board is around 3306 which means you need 700 of the time to finish the board.
    That means that you will miss 3 more birds from the randoms one on your last live on level 1 just before jumping out.

    Means maximum 15x500x2 + 01x100x2 = 15.200 points (12.200 when finishing the board)
    Means medium 10x500x2 + 05x250x2 + 1x100x2 = 12.700 points (11.000 when finishing the board)
    Means minimum 05x500x2 + 10x250x2 + 1x100x2 = 10.200 points (9.000 when finishing the board)

    Means maximum 15x500x2 + 01x100x2 = 15.200 points (12.200 when finishing the board)
    live 1 = 015.200 (2 lives remaining)
    live 2 = 030.400 (2 lives remaining, earn 1 live at 20.000)
    live 3 = 045.600 (2 lives remaining, earn 1 live at 40.000)
    live 4 = 060.800 (2 lives remaining, earn 1 live at 60.000)
    live 5 = 076.000 (1 lives remaining)
    live 6 = 091.200 (1 lives remaining, earn 1 live at 80.000)
    live 7 = 106.400 (1 lives remaining, earn 1 live at 100.000)
    live 8 = 121.600 (1 lives remaining, earn 1 live at 120.000)
    live 9 = 133800 (finishing the board and go out)

    Means medium 10x500x2 + 05x250x2 + 1x100x2 = 12.700 points (11.000 when finishing the board)
    live 1 = 012.700 (2 lives remaining)
    live 2 = 025.400 (2 lives remaining, earn 1 live at 20.000)
    live 3 = 038.100 (1 lives remaining)
    live 4 = 050.800 (1 lives remaining, earn 1 live at 40.000)
    live 5 = 063.500 (1 lives remaining, earn 1 live at 60.000)
    live 6 = 074.500 (finishing the board and go out)

    Means minimum 05x500x2 + 10x250x2 + 1x100x2 = 10.200 points (9.000 when finishing the board)
    live 1 = 010.200 (2 lives remaining)
    live 2 = 020.400 (2 lives remaining, earn 1 live at 20.000)
    live 3 = 030.600 (1 lives remaining)
    live 4 = 040.800 (1 lives remaining, earn 1 live at 40.000)
    live 5 = 049.800 (finishing the board and go out)

    But what if you warp on your last live ?

    The maximum point you can do on your last live is 1.360 points

    Means maximum 15x500x2 + 01x100x2 = 15.200 points (1.360 before warp)
    live 9 = 122.960 (warp to level 79)

    Means medium 10x500x2 + 05x250x2 + 1x100x2 = 12.700 points (1.360 before warp)
    live 6 = 064860 (warp to level 79)

    Means minimum 05x500x2 + 10x250x2 + 1x100x2 = 10.200 points (1.360 before warp)
    live 5 = 042.160 (warp to level 79)

    And what will be your score if you succesfully get the warp bonus ?

    Best score you can do during level 79 is 6.750 points.

    If you warp on level 1 you have to finish level 79 and the warp bonus is 780000 points.
    Means maximum live 9 = 122.960 + 6750 + 780.000 = 909.710
    Means medium live 6 = 064.860 + 6750 + 780.000 = 851.610
    Means minimum live 5 = 042.160 + 6750 + 780.000 = 828.910

    If you do not warp on level one you will have to wait for level 3.
    Best score for goinig to warp on level 3 is around 18000.
    Then you have to finish level 79 and the warp bonus is 760000 points.
    Way be you did not notice it but you earn +18K and you loose -20K warp bonus.
    Means maximum live 9 = 133.800 + 18.000 + 6.750 + 760.000 = 918.550
    Means medium live 6 = 074.500 + 18.000 + 6.750 + 760.000 = 859.250
    Means minimum live 5 = 049.800 + 18.000 + 6.750 + 760.000 = 834.550

    Conclusion of all this ?

    This means that with a very little effort, it is possible to do 830K on this game (TG settings)
    This means that with a some effort, it is possible to do 855K on this game (TG settings)
    But then, each point is training and training and...

    At the moment my best on the end of level 1 is 68K (medium statistic is reallistic). I did it twice, head got me once while jumping to finish..arghhhh!!!.
    I reached the head at the end of level 81 twice and i can tell this one will be hard to beat.
    My hiscore is 873.819 points so far. I just submitted it.

    Wy not using the technic during DECA ?

    I was not using this technic at that time.
    After deca, i trained for TGTS and reached 812K quickly but the 6K missing were difficult to find.
    I noticed that i was earning a lot of lives and i was loosing them cause you can have no more than 5.
    So i began testing a lot of different technic to spend lives to find the 6K.
    Nothing was worth it, when i remembered a difficult technique i saw on marp from saru3000 ... i found 60K.

    THE JIM JUNG I,ROBOT ARCADE HISCORE 818.684

    ++++++ THE JIM JUNG I,ROBOT ARCADE HISCORE 818.684 ++++++

    The more i xas playing I,Robot, the more i was wondering about the arcade hiscore

    I did two scores on I,Robot (TGTS) this week.

    first one is 873.819 points (just submitted this one) :
    720.000 is warp
    060.000 is level 1 trick
    027.500 is points for best time
    066.319 is other points

    second one is 861.605 points :
    720.000 is warp
    040.000 is level 1 trick
    032.500 is points for best time
    069.105 is other points

    What are the scores if i did not use level 1 trick ?
    first = 873.819 - 60.000 = 813.819 points
    second = 861.605 - 40.000 = 821.605 points
    I thought first he did like me and was blocked by the head on level 81.

    But if i was playing on arcade machine where a lot of people did a lot of scores ?
    I would certainly not have the all the best time bonus (2500), il would have somme even (1000) and missed some.
    Let's say i would have half of it
    first = 813.819 - 13.750 = 800.069 points
    second = 821.605 - 16.250 = 805.355 points
    And after counting all points in the game, it means he had to reach Level 82 or beyond, beating the head on level 81. I'd like to see that.

    or he used level one trick and was begining to train on it.
    He did 30k (around what saru3000 did in his marp record) warp to level 79 and finish it.
    that means 30.000 (level 1 trick 4 lives) + 7650 (level 9 perfect) + 780.000 (warp) + 1.000 (dying space level 79) = 818.650 points.

    ...well, well, well...I would like to know.
    Does anybody knows Jim Jung, he was living in Santa Ana, CA, united states in 1985 when he did his 818.684, i have a question for him.

    I,ROBOT MYSTERY

    ++++++ 99 LEVELS IN THE GAME ++++++

    The I,Robot game is supposed to have 99 levels. Why not.
    But it is divised in series of 26 levels!?

    Levels 01 / 27 / 53 / 79 are the same.
    Levels 02 / 28 / 54 / 80 are the same.
    ...

    So why 99 and not 26 x 4 = 104?
    Can anyone tell me?

    ++++++ LEVEL 81, A HEAD IN THE SPACE ++++++

    In I,Robot, you have a head in the space part every 4 level.

    That means :
    level 04 / 08 / 12 / 16 / 20
    level 24 / 28 / 32 / 36 / 40
    level 44 / 48 / 52 / 56 / 60
    level 64 / 68 / 72 / 76 / 80
    level 84 / 88 / 92 / 96

    so, why is there no head on level 80 and this f*** red head on level 81?
    Can anyone tell me?

    I can add that 104 levels with a Head every 4 levels means a Final head on the last screen of the game.
    The final boss.

    Impossible with 99 levels or with a head on level 81.
    Can anyone tell me?

    Saru3000 = 91.781 points

    Just did 91.781 points with Saru3000 technic.
    And with a run up to final head of level 81, it is a final score of 902.976 points.
    I thought it was possible, problem was to do it as usual.

    Just submitted 902.976 points TGTS.
