Would a marathonable submission be the current track or a new one?
The current rules for gauntlet state 700 health difficulty 4 (moderate)the games default settings. which is a non-marathonable revision.yet the high score says otherwise.thats why im a little confused about it.maybe theres an error in the rules.as the mame track states which revision is used and the arcade track dont.

Could anyone ask a former ref who verified the scores if they can shed some light on the matter
    Rtm or greg sakundiak??

    Mark,

Just a few comments about the Gauntlet Arcade version, which should be similar to the MAME version
    - your score will wrap around to 0 after 9,999,999
    - after level 999, the game continues at level 8 (level 1,000 is level 8, and so on)
    - I averaged 700,000 points per hour (playing the Wizard)

Looking forward to your record run. Good Luck!

    Q*Bert ----- 8,000,000 (1983) 16 hours - Gauntlet - 25,100,000 (1986) 36 hours

Thats great info greg thanks. I Assume you was playing an earlier version in 86 that didnt remove food? like the version I played back then,I've played past lv 999 on my machine at home which took over 24 hrs..the mame version kills you off very quickly based on score by removing all food from the levels.

Use any version you wish, you can start with lower health if you want, the main things is the difficulty 4 setting.
TG has rarely used a specific version of a game unless otherwise noted, but Gauntlet has no revision qualifier.
