I guess I will try to get in on this too, but only if I can hunt down all of those games in time.

I am not a fan of some of those game titles though (I never liked marble madness), so I guess I will aim for last place so I will have an attainable goal. ;)

Original console + cart is of course allowed and strongly encouraged.

I will note that the mystery game will all but require players to use either a flash cart or emulator to submit, as it is a very obscure title. This is done deliberately as part of the beta test in order to test that part of the system. --- Wes Copeland
    COOL !!!

I will have to dig my carts out, because I may have a lot of the ones required, but I know off the top of my head that I already have 3 or 4.

I may have that very obscure one too once it is announced, because most of the ones I have were less popular (hard to find) titles.

How do we do that time.gov time stamp with the original console? Should we just have a Laptop or something sitting next to the TV?

That'll work, just as long as it's clearly visible. For the next event we'll work on smoothing the timestamp process out for events with game lists that are revealed prior to event start.

I just went to that site with a Firefox web browser and zoom the page to 300%, which displays the time and date very large.

I don't have a snowball's chance in a volcano of winning, because those game titles are not my favorites, but it should be a lot of fun anyway. :)

That sounds like a good plan. Don't forget to register for the event itself on the site! Once the event starts, registration will be closed.

Heading there now, as you posted that.
Now I have to try and remember my password, since I use that remember me option all the time. :)

Registered. Decent at Marble, as for the rest; who knows! : - )

Great to have all of these tournaments on one site. Makes things so much easier to follow

Is this open to people who have 20+ years of network delay? A.k.a. it really isn't that hard to get time.gov to say what you want it to (one browser plugin, two lines of php).

I know there's really no benefit to cheating like this as it gives you less time to practice the games, but you probably should be aware that it's not anywhere near foolproof.

Thanks for bringing this security issue to my attention and further emphasizing the importance of a beta test :)

We will be ditching the time.gov idea and will try using a different approach. Stay tuned.
