    M.A.M.E. - Pac Man - Fastest "Perfect" Clearance, Stage 4

    PlatformM.A.M.E.
    Game NamePac Man
    DescriptionFastest "Perfect" Clearance, Stage 4
    Score TypePoints Int
    The following DIP switch settings are mandatory:-

    Difficulty Normal
    Rack Test (Cheat) Off
    Service Mode Off

    The following DIP switch settings are recommended:-

    Lives 5
    Bonus Life 10,000
    RulesThe timespan of the "perfect" stage 3 clearance is measured in frames. It starts at the frame in which the “READY!” disappears, and ends at the frame in which the player adds 15,600 points to his or her score.

    Before the “READY!” disappears, the player's score must be between 5,200 and 30,000 (inclusive). Said score must match that which was attained via the preceding gameplay. Any other score shall result in rejection of the player's submission.

    Use of the “rack test”, via the DIP switch, or by any other method, shall result in rejection of the player's submission.

    The frame numbers used to calculate the timespan shall be those assigned by the specific version of Wolf MAME used by the player, therefore Wolf MAME's input file (extension, INP) shall be the sole evidence of said timespan.

    All frames must be counted, so the timespan is an inclusive total. Thus:-

    Timespan = ending frame's number - starting frame's number + 1

    Errors yielding a longer timespan (more frames counted than necessary) shall be tolerated. Errors yielding a shorter timespan (uncounted frames) shall result in rejection of the player's submission.

    The above rules are incorrect. The rules should read:-

    The timespan of the "perfect" stage 4 clearance is measured in frames. It starts at the frame in which the “READY!” disappears, and ends at the frame in which the player adds 15,600 points to his or her score.

    Before the “READY!” disappears, the player's score must be between 7,800 and 45,600 (inclusive).

Thus:-

    Timespan = ending frame's number - starting frame's number + 1

    Errors yielding a longer timespan (more frames counted than necessary) shall be tolerated. Errors yielding a shorter timespan (uncounted frames) shall result in rejection of the player's submission.
