    TG Duplicate Accounts

In the Twin Galaxies database, multiple user accounts appear to exist for various individuals (identical full names are stored on the member profile pages). I noticed some of these accounts many months ago, while others have been created recently (within the past 2-8 days).

At the very least, these duplicates should be closely examined.

The data below is accurate as of today at 11:00 AM (EST):

Size: 108.6 KB

    Additional Info

Despite being banned, the Steve Girard account is still attached to a world record (under the name "Rocky J Rose"):

Duplicate names are not an issue as there are many people in the world with the exact same names. It is not reasonable to prohibit that. Obviously there is more than one Li Wang in China, for instance.

Each Twin Galaxies account that is verified must have its own set of non duplicative verified personal information attached to it. Multiple accounts for the purposes of manipulation becomes incredibly prohibitive for an individual to maintain as they increase. TG has now reached a scale, that even if someone manages to disingenuously maintain a couple of accounts for voting manipulation purposes they are rendered ineffective against the swarm - and will eventually be caught via anti-collusion processes we have in place.

As it is we already have our eye on a few groups who seem to operate in packs...

The Steve Girard score remains because it took place before the new era ot TG and we are avoiding database alterations pre-new era as much as possible at this current time.

    Hey Jace,

Thank you for the timely response.

I'm just reporting what I find. Obviously, I do not have access to the complete set of personal information.

By the way, I noticed other examples earlier today:

    Full Name = Noah Bower

    http://www.twingalaxies.com/member.php/47746-Papsiecan

    http://www.twingalaxies.com/member.php/49456-Papsie

Full Name = Wong Wai Yuk

    http://www.twingalaxies.com/member.php/48028-LeonFPSth

    http://www.twingalaxies.com/member.php/49774-Leon-Wong

Coincidence? New account created due to a forgotten password? Father and son accounts, with "Junior" omitted from the member profile? Something else entirely?

I don't know and I won't speculate, but the number of similarities over a brief period of time is unusual.
