The same thing happened back in March 2015.

The real danger with such a system vulnerability is that opportunistic members might vote on open submissions after viewing the current poll results. I sincerely hope no one did that. It basically amounts to the TG equivalent of insider information.

I have witnessed a number of submissions that were accepted with fewer than 10 votes.

The lowest vote tally I can personally verify is 3-0 (excluding canceled items). The submission was accepted after spending 6 weeks in the queue.

The maximum voter turnout (that I am aware of) was for one of Andrew's earliest submissions:

PlayStation - Hydro Thunder - PAL - Lake Powell [Fastest Race] - 1:40.41 - Andrew Mee

The submission became a running joke back in 2015. Despite numerous "Reject Me Please" requests, it refused to die gracefully and remained open for 8 months.

It was eventually rejected after attracting 92 total votes ( 88 No and 4 Yes ).

So it would seem that the Cred Rating of both the submitter and the adjudicator play a role in the acceptance/rejection algorithm.

The more I learn about this site, the less sense it makes to me.

My data processing cycle typically runs from 8:00 AM to 8:00 AM (EDT), unless the site is down for maintenance.

Looking at the most recent 24-hour period of adjudication activity:

A total of 63 submissions completed the review process ( 62 Accepted and 1 Rejected ).

A total of 81 adjudicators voted on at least one of the completed submissions.

    A total of 847 votes were cast ( 845 Correct and 2 Incorrect ).

Average number of votes per submission = 13.44

I can provide one example from earlier today:

    SNES / SFC - Street Racer - NTSC - Sumo San 3 [Fastest Lap] - 17.33 - john brissie

John's submission completed at 8:50 AM (EDT).

The submission had been open for 7 days, and was accepted by a 7-0 vote.

Yes, I realize that my last 2 replies have been completely off-topic.

I apologize for the thread derailment.

Is there a reason why Mr Brissie receives such apparently preferential treatment?

If you're asking why I selected John's submission as an example:

It was the first item to go through after I completed my daily CR analysis, and isolating the poll result was a simple and straightforward process.

If the question is ironic, suggesting that John's submission did not receive the voter attention it deserves:

    I agree.

John consistently provides clear and thorough evidence, so the level of voter participation is disappointing. Of course, the low voter turnout could be one consequence of a bloated queue with more than 500 items.

Had I not retired from adjudicating 11 days ago, the submission would have received one additional Yes vote.

As it turns out, one of Johns submissions that got accepted yesterday was the last active vote that I had left in the system. I'm done with adjudication for some time. That being said, now that jjt has/will got banned, there are 6 members in the top 10 cred that are not active anymore. I'm guessing that the submission queue will bloat even further.

Actually, my question was about why his submission was accepted, with so few votes, while other submissions have to garner more votes.

In the year or so I've been adjudicating, I've taken quite a few breaks, so I understand exactly where you guys are going.

Time for some more members to get off their voting asses, I'm sure.
