    MGLXXXIII - Game 2 ~ Galaga '88 (closes 3-Sep)

    Revenge of the Galagas …

    MGL 33 - Game 2 ~ Galaga ‘88

Nominated by gamer: Andrew Barrow (Wellington, New Zealand)

    ROM WolfMAME 0.106: Galaga88

    Game Story:
The game plays much like the original, but at the beginning you have a choice of heading out with a single or dual ship (choosing dual means having one less ship as a spare). In either case, enemies fly into their formation and you can attack them as they enter. Some waves will have escorts that can be destroyed and some have extra enemies that will fly at you instead of heading into formation. This is only the beginning, there is a lot more to learn.

    Score Submissions:
Please make a new post for each score you post, with your score as the first line of your post, along with a screen shot showing your score and initials. This game finishes Sunday 3 September 2017, 5am EDT.

Please make sure your settings are as above. Hit the F2 key and make sure. No continues are allowed when submitting a score and must be played from the beginning of the game. No pausing. No cheats allowed.

Games can be played at the arcade. You must ensure the arcade operator has the game at the MGL game settings for the submission to be valid.

    GAME 2 … The dimensional rift …

Nice starting score Tobias! I also saw your post on Facebook ... https://www.facebook.com/paul.hornit...03055386266549

Unfortunately there is no way to save the correct settings. So you need to change the settings every time you start a MAME session. If you do not quit MAME, you can play as many games as you want at the correct settings.

Nice opening score Ben, over 100K on a tough game already.

I like the way you are recording your game play as I am guessing you will submit your highest score to TG for verification later. I think there is no better way to be recognized for your skills and effort than to submit to TG so your games can be verified and placed on the world scoreboard, just like when Walter Day opened the scoreboard in the 80s.

What's better in this digital age like in 2017, is that your scores will be "etched in stone" forever in cyberspace. Your children, friends and later generations can see what Benjamin Sweeney accomplished ... and you will never be forgotten.

Like I said nice opener, how far can you take that score?

@OOO I'll definitely be submitting all my best runs to TG. I also encourage INP recording in general and think it takes out any question about a performance because it can be downloaded and played back by everyone.
