RTM REPLY - seems like someone at TG made a major typo then...not just 1 or 2 digits but 3 consecutive digits. That's deplorable :(

Polaroid proof from BITD was acceptable so no problem there. This explains the oddball score. I'm un-voting as the mystery seems to have been solved, but someone needs to petition to have the score changed and that requires a credibility rating of at least 4000 so I cannot do this.

There is something seriously wrong with those scores. I don't believe anyone would take 43 continues and end up with such a relatively low score. If the score was adjudicated via polaroid, then it should not say "referee verified". If the score actually contains 00 at the end, the the current score is invalid.

Sorry Leo, but this score (and all the others) should be removed.

to rtm's point about a new dispute and datagod's point about score removal, a reminder that this is "score dispute" not "score removal". If a score needs to be corrected/edit as opposed to deleted this is still the right place for it.

If it was just one person's score I might think they cheated, but the entire scoreboard is suspicious. additionally as others pointed out, i didnt think someone would use so many continues and get those scores. Something went deeply wrong on the data entry side here. Now, just the fact that its not the players fault doesnt mean we let the score stay of course, I do think though Leo should be given all the time he needs to prove his real score (maybe he can somehow get his hand on a copy of the polaroid?).

something was going on here, something big. I just dont believe so many mistakes could possibly happen on accident. either something malicious happened, or there was extreme laziness to the point of virtually just acting like monkeys banging on keys, or some sort of system wide randomization bug kicked in.... whatever the case i'm sure it was something absolutely crazy and i wonder just how widespread the problem was. This has exposed the problem (or part of it) now we need to determine how far the problem went, how it happened, and of course how to fix it

If polaroid proof was acceptable at that time, then I apologize and reverse my stance on that issue.

As for correcting the score, yes of course that is agreeable to me as well. Not trying to start a witch hunt or anything. Looking for accuracy and an increase in confidence in the legacy aspects of the scoreboard.

    No Idea about entries but.......

The scores were recorded by referees and backed up with tons of Poloroids. TG has a box of them confirming the scores. I don't know how the scores were entered wrong because they were submitted RIGHT! Just like my PacMan arrangement score was entered on home version Nintendo when it was actually the coinop arcade game. Whoever was doing the data entry made a LOT of mistakes.

Perhaps it wasn't a data entry error, but a data conversion error. The database technology used in 1990's is definitely different than what is running today. The data had to be massaged / imported to the new system possibly more than once.

    It's making more sense now

Well that seems to make more sense, but even back in the day, when this was originally submitted my Pacman arrangement score was still entered into the wrong category, it should be coinop arcade and not home version Nintendo. Can anyone help with correcting that?
