Dispute Evidence / RationaleThis score was done on "Easy" difficulty instead of "Medium." I can't seem to access attachments from the Dispute form, so I will attach the original INP in a reply so it can be examined with a hex editor for proof. With correct settings, offset 0x2F will have a value of 0x40 (repeating every 0x7C). This INP has a value of 0x00 in that offset, indicating default settings were used.

What's your point, Jeremy. Hows that any different to a Kong score that was accepted on 7K free man instead of the rule stated 10K free man or visa versa ?

The difficulty actually makes a difference here. Don't try and turn this thread into something its not.

Thank, Andrew. Can someone explain the difference in a little more detail. Please.

    This list is not exhaustive.

-Kong moves down the ladder faster
    -enemies fire more often
    -Kong throws coconuts more frequently
-timer runs down faster (although don't quote me on this one)

George Riley would be able to post a more comprehensive list.

Thank you Andrew. That's a pretty good list. But I'll wait to see what George the expert can add.

To be sure I won't, Andrew. I'm very cautious these days who from the Kong community I quote lest they try to get me banned :)

Kong community? I'd prefer CAG community :)

I'll direct George to this thread and hopefully he can clear things up

    Voting Yes on this dispute.

Easy difficulty is easy. Medium difficulty is harder. However, it's best to experience it in the holistic ecosystem of the game, so I'd recommend you play a few games on each difficulty to experience it yourself.

That said, Barra already mentioned several important differences. A very easy difference to see yourself is to start a game on Easy and one on Medium and use a stopwatch to see how fast the timer counts down on Medium compared to Easy. It counts down faster on Medium. This affects the difficulty of clearing levels in time and the scoring you get when you finish levels.

Jeremy, can you explain to the community how you came to have the INP files for these old pre-TGSAP submissions?

Back when INPs were downloadable if a player allowed it, Kong from Retro Uprising archived a large number of public INPs (similar to what I do with MARP on a regular basis). This included INPs from Donkey Kong, Donkey Kong Jr., Donkey Kong 3, and Crazy Kong. At my request he shared that portion of his archive with me. I have something like 177 total INPs, with about 21 of them being DK3.
