    Mario Bros Arcade settings...

I'm trying to figure out what the normal amount of extra lives are for this game. Its an all orignal machine that I restored, with the original board.

Its set to receive a free life at 20,000 points. From the videos I've watched, I was under the impression that you only get one free life per game, not every 20,000 points, etc.

At first I would only get a free life at 20,000 and no more throughtout the game. Now I'm getting extra lives at 20k, 40k, 60, so on so forth.

    Which is normal?Name: mario widebody.jpg

Played with the dip switch settings, and I keep getting lives every 20k after the first initial life. So if its set to free life at 30,000, I'll get the life at 30 k and a new life every 20k afterwards.

So after doing some homework, apparently this board set has the Revision F. Anyway to fix it? Or if I want to compete, am I stuck buying a different board?

Hey - not sure about fixing the board but as an avid Mario Bros player I can confirm that you should be receiving an extra life at 20k and that's it. You can always burn a new ROM chip(s) with the original ROM on it.

    BUT

I wonder if your dip switches aren't faulty. That could account for not being able to get the desired gameplay settings. Those would be easier to fix/replace.
