This is true... I can un-invite someone to my home (if they break my 2600 joystick), as the visitor would be stuck playing Space Invaders, Pac-Man OR Angry Birds slot machines with THEIR own joystick reel.

Believe it or not, there actually is a strategy and SKILL to win at those, besides the luck already build in!!!
(Just like Atari 2600 - Slot Machine - Keep hitting the reset button as often as you like, bet accordingly, and be VERY PATIENT)

Seconded. There's no value added by tracking the scores on this. It's not a game of skill or strategy.

(At least some of the variations in Codebreaker work nearly the same way. Start the game, guess a number, if it's correct you get a score of 1, otherwise reset and try again. There's no skill, all luck.)

That said, there's no way to prove that this wasn't a ridiculously improbable run of luck. It's possible. Unlikely as hell, but possible. Much more likely to be false submission. Or heck, even more likely to have a fake cartridge with a modified rom in it.

(Of course its very possible to get a 9999. That is if you keep hitting the reset button over and over again after being bankrupt. Then, you earn the cumulative credits that rollover from the prior game. (You also decide the wager, thats the player strategy to this game, besides the luck of the pull)

Question: Now is it legal tactic to keep hitting reset over and over? So far, me and Gregdeg are the only ones to say "no" from the earlier posts on this thread, and from our experience of the game.

If Frying a Machine on Street Racer to get 99 is legal why shouldn't resets

Not all games require skill but it's all about Tracking all scores

RTM REPLY - actually we decided years back that there would be some records that TG would not track for a number of reasons, and a few of them were 2600 records.

"Word Zapper" was one of them...it was a total joke to get a score of 10. "Outlaw" was another in getting a score of 17. "Breakout" game 1B for 864 points. "Dodge'em" for 1080 points and quite a few others.

As for any title where a world record can be the indirect result of frying the system, it is a given that such records should be excluded from the TG database because no one actually played the game in doing so.

This is a sample of one of the "TG Does Not Track" threads/lists that was created years back...reasons vary, but the entire concept of TG not tracking specific titles within a platform was already decided upon a good decade ago or longer.

Flipping the switches mid play should definitely not be allowed as it violates most of the tracks that state difficulty b. Frying should not be allowed in my opinion as it is not in the spirit of the game. Yes a grey area...but just my opinion.

on a side note...since this thread is going nowhere...I'll need to purchase an sd card for my harmony cart that is coming. I was thinking of getting an sd card with 90/45 read write. Is that overkill? How fast can the flash be written to?

My inside information tells me Todd has a super secret method that allows him to get this score in 5.51 seconds
