From the IVGHOF site: "Walter Day Lifetime Achievement Award
Honoring individuals or organizations who have served the electronic gaming industry over the course of a long career, enriching the industry with their selfless contributions, strong leadership, and creative vision. The point of this award is that they have served for a long time"

    RTM REPLY
    - I nominate...Rudy J. Ferretti for this distinction.

-> He has been involved with TG for 15+ years, nearly half his age, and gaming for longer than that...this meets the first criteria
-> He has "enriched the gaming community" by creating or contributing to posts that have resulted in thousands of replies thus perpetuating interest in the hobby...that meets the second criteria
-> He has lead, on at least one occasion, scores of gamers towards a common goal, albeit that being his being re-instated, but the ability to mobilize so many gamers surely is indicative of a leadership quality...that meets the third criteria
-> He has demonstrated "creative vision" in his calls for electronic gaming athletes to be treated no differently than sports figures thereby earning high salaries AND bonuses throughout the year...thereby meeting the fourth criteria
-> He has been part of TG since 2001, and since TG was only an existing entity for 1981-1987 and 1996-2017 (28 years), and has Rudy has been part of TG for more than half that (16+ since 2001 and counting), that meets the fifth and final criteria

So my nomination goes to Rudy J. Ferretti for the Walter Day Lifetime Achievement Award. I am quite sure that such an illustrious award should have a commensurately illustrious recipient.

I avoided this place for 2 years because I thought it was boring, now that I became active there is never a dull moment. :)

RTM REPLY - TG's "excitement" level comes and goes in swings...all depends on (A) hot button topic(s) of the moment, (B) new world record submissions, and finally ( C ) a kick-a** new title released that is all the rage (i.e. "H1Z1")

The reality, however, is that (A) there's never a guarantee for a "hot button topic" at any given time, (B) as scores continue to climb, save for new releases, world records come farther and fewer inbetween, and finally ( C ) kick-a** new titles with trackable results don't come out every week either.

For the moment TG has a decent amount of interesting activity.

There is plenty to keep me interested, I enjoy arcade world records, as well as Atari 2600 world records as well. And there is plenty of room for retro computing games, and anything that's more primitive or predates the NES. I usually only ever came here to vote on William Rosa's world records, as I usually watch them all anyways and enjoy them. As you can tell I already know almost everyone in the classic arcade community. Sad to say I have no claim to fame gaming wise except that I know several programming languages, have developed a prototype game engine from scratch and have 6502/NES game development experience.
