his score is also tied with many youtubers. in fact every score higher is suspect,
however the more complicated a game there more difficult it is to prove a maxout. There could be a secret somewhere right? I'm willing to admit a few of the scores above chris might be possible, some seret noone knows het, but an extra 100k? no way.

by the way the difference between 558,724 and 455,623 is even larger than it sounds. you might say thats roughly a 20% difference, and that alone is huge to say that many secret points exist, but consider that the 455k score comes from purposely dying on the dragon and redoing the point rich scene numerous times. so really, theres not even 455k points in the game, you have to redo the most valuable scene of all numerous times to get it for about 32k each time, meaning there's really only about 300k points in the game, so the secret hidden points we're expected to believe exist are 1/3 all the known points? just way too much, just no way theres that many secret points in such a well known game. lots of people have played dragons lair, lots of youtube uploads, nothing above chris foote's 7th place score has ever happend when a camera is anywhere nearby. like i say, i'm willing to accept there may be secrets left to fine, so i'm not challenging all 1-6, i'm just challenging 1#, thats just way too much
Thanks Chris Foote thanked this post

this is the thread that started it all. I'll copy some of the more important points later, unless anyone wants to for me. But apparently this score may be valid after all depending on rom set.

This score is mathematically impossible and should be removed.

This is a valid dispute. Voting yes. Lots of people can play till then end and burn all the lives. Where are all the other 500,000 players?

We have youtube videos showing how to get 999,999 with unlimited lives...

I would think we'd have one of someone breaking 500,000. Tim has a video showing that he believes 509,813 is the max socre.

This is definitely a score that needs to be removed. Glad someone finally disputed the score.

I proved Tims video of the score breakdown to be incorrect. The fire ropes score of 5,303 is incorrect. Here is video of my perfect run, you will see fire ropes not score as high as Tim says. Luckily I got regular fire ropes right at the start, Just like Tim says would happen but the scoring is 2089, not 5303. Reverse Fire Ropes start at 7:33 on my video and after a bit of arithmetic , are worth 874 points. I'm not trying to debunk Tims evidence , but the fact still remains, the Judd Boone score to be Impossible. After my run , With Perfect moves and sac'ing my last 4 guys the score is 455,623. I believe Steve Grunberger ran his DL on hardest settings with a perfect run and the score came out to somewhere in the 487,xxx range. Still, The Judd Boone score , there is no way. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F-S2fmWg1dA&t=737s

Yeah the scores above Chris are likely nonsense as well considering the time frame this is fron but at least if you play on hardest you CAN get there. Voting yes for sure I know Tim has been on this forever.

and yeah im sure everyone got the "max" score on hardest (Which most arcades did not have DL set to). All those 1980s scores are probably 100% garbage unless they owned a DL and changed the settings. Sigh....
