Dear Community

The error consistently occurs when a track name contains a special Unicode character; in this case, the "ü" in "Nürburgring" (Alt Code = 0252). The link should display the scoreboard for the desired track, but instead retrieves the scoreboards for ALL variations of the given platform and game.

Another example (reported previously but not corrected):

https://www.twingalaxies.com/scores.php?scores=207191

Track ID 207191 navigates to:

https://www.twingalaxies.com/game/be...s-caf%E9-time/

The correct destination should be:

https://www.twingalaxies.com/game/be...sis-cafe-time/

Once again, the special character "é" in "Café" (Alt Code = 0233) seems to be the culprit.

Another notification error involving a recent Donkey Kong submission, where the score does not match the actual submission (see below):

For Tetris on the Gameboy, the "Game B - Level 9-High 5" track indicates in the rules to use Level 0-High5. There is already a track for Level 0-High 5, so it makes sense the intention was for the rules to reflect the track title.

I'm running into an issue creating tracks and taking advantage of the derivative track discount. When it comes time to select the "created track", I get a huge list to choose from, and from my understanding, one is required to choose the item that exactly matches the created track's title. In this specific case, I'm looking for "NTSC (Points)". However, when chosen, it overrides the information I put in all the other fields. Am I doing something wrong, here? Whether I am doing something wrong or not, this process of rummaging through that potpourri list is kind of cumbersome, tbh. It's not like find a needle in a haystack, rather, it's like finding a needle in a stack of needles. :-/

Summary:

I created a track - Atari 2600 platform. Name of game is "Atlantis II" and the track description was "NTSC (Points)". Here is a link to the successfully created "Master track": https://www.twingalaxies.com/showthread.php/229733-Atari-2600-VCS-Atlantis-II-NTSC-(Points)

I then attempted to create a derivative track, merely changing just the description to "EMU (Points)" with every other detail remaining identical.

I have already circumvented this problem by simply creating the "EMU (Points)" track spending the 10 submission points (no biggie), but I am curious how to resolve the issue moving forward, if there is even an issue to begin with, which I'm not certain either way.

Here is a video of my attempts to create a derivative track, so the powers that be can see the issues I ran into, with the hope that reviewing the video may facilitate a solution.

Thank you!

For this track: https://www.twingalaxies.com/game/boxing/atari-2600-vcs/game-1-difficulty-bb-point-difference

The current track title: Game 1, Difficulty BB (Point Difference)

The title needs clarification added, and amended to say: EMU - Game 1, Difficulty BB (Point Difference)

Both track creators confirmed in 2019 that such was their intent when creating the track that year. See message thread for comments from both creators on this submission HERE and HERE.

Thank you as always!

You're not missing anything but instead looking for a feature which isn't there: there's no filter. Tick the box and then select the drop-down list & hope you pick correctly. There are very few shortcuts involved but your latest creation should always be the bottom-most option on the drop-down list.

[Edit:] Took me a while to find the link but here's some old info on the same subject: https://www.twingalaxies.com/desidious/wall/9111/track-creation-proposal/page/1#comment66822

That is what I initially suspected (that is, it would either be on the very top or the very bottom of the list), however, as you can see at 2:46, I reached the bottom of the list and it wasn't there :-(

I'll check out that thread you linked to. Thanks, Barthax!

[Edit] I just read your comment from the linked discussion. OMG I feel like an idiot. I know precisely how HTML elements work, including the option tag. Duh. LOL! I'll F12 it next time. Thanks again!

Yeah, it doesn't appear at the bottom sometimes hence "should" and not "will". :(

No probs, glad I can help.

Hi garret

From now on if you select a platform and game combination , you will only see the tracks created under that combination.

I hope this will help

NES/Famicom/Disk - Pac-Man - PAL - Points:

https://www.twingalaxies.com/game/pac-man/nintendo-entertainment-system/page/1

NES/Famicom/Disk - Pac-Man - NTSC - Points:

https://www.twingalaxies.com/game/pac-man-namco-and-or-tengen-license/nintendo-entertainment-system/page/1

Both tracks were founded by TG it appears, but the PAL track is under the game name "Pac-Man" and the NTSC track is under the game name "Pac-Man [Namco and/or Tengen License]"

I believe they should be under the same game name. Despite the PAL track not specifying that the Tengen and Namco licenses are both acceptable, it is commonly understood that they are both acceptable across all regions and not just on an NTSC deck. So - if you rename the game on this platform from "Pac-Man" to "Pac-Man [Namco and/or Tengen License]" it should merge the two games so both tracks appear under the same game.

https://www.twingalaxies.com/game/speed-spin/mame/biggest-blowout/

https://www.twingalaxies.com/game/kick-and-run

https://www.twingalaxies.com/game/grand-striker/mame/biggest-blowout/

Please remove the following gibberish from the above tracks and maybe any of the biggest-blowout tracks

"""" If you won Round 1, 5-2 and Round 2 5-3 and lost the 3rd Round 0-1, your cumulative Biggest Blowout would be 4."""

This was discussed by the community in the following submissions.

If this rule was to remain you could end up with negative scoring.
