Oh, dear - I've definitely given you the wrong impression. Speedrun.com tracks are not adjudicated here. There are duplicates of their tracks here in case a gamer wishes to complete at both - they are entirely separate scoreboards.

TLDR inaccurate version: speedrun.com don't like TG hosting tracks which use the same rules as speedrun.com so they're locked until speedrun.com gives permission for each individual track.

Speed runners split from TG and forms numerous other sites. Eventually speedrun.com became sufficiently popular that it is sort of the go-to place for speed runs. TG facilitated the possibility by creating the --Speedruns platform and importing all the rules from the speedrun.com site. Speedrun.com members through a hissy fit that the scores weren't imported along with the rules and/or (different individuals) also objected to the rules being copied (but speedrun.com was also based on numerous speed runs times+rules of TG [and lots of other web sites] in the first place...). So TG facilitated the speedrun.com objections by locking all tracks in --Speedruns platform until the originating author of the track at speedrun.com gave individual permission directly to TG for the track to be used at TG.

Ugh. What a huge mess! Just wanted to make sure, cuz i saw that speedrun has a profile at TG. Just like GWR. Which led me to believe that the TG community adjudicates on some speedrun.com records just like they adjudicate GWR submissions. I was originally looking for doom tracks on PC platform but apparently they don't exist!

The speedrun profile was created by TG so that the tracks on the scoreboard correctly reflect they were part of the speedrun.com import. Note: that doesn't mean the speedrun.com site is the "author" due to the timeline of TG & other sites creating many tracks before speedrun.com even existed. However, because they're part of the import, they're locked ...

Are you proposing that every single "(Fastest Lap)" track needs to have this rule clarification. Is this correct?

Gran Turismo 3 A-Spec has 124 pages, so approximately 1,240 tracks in total to go through. If it's simply a case that ALL "Fastest Lap" tracks need this tweak and can all have identical rulesets, then I think IT can do this from the back-end in a single swoop.

If you can clarify in the first instance, I will discuss further with the team.

Thanks Stephen. That detail is better placed in the track rules section for higher visibility... for an example, please refer to this track...

The digits refer to the MAME version... with each new release, the MAME development team will sometimes shuffle ROMset names around as they gain better understanding of the relationship between games and their clones/bootlegs/revisions etc.

Our job is to keep track of this whole tricky process!

Why it's noted as 0.###, I'm not sure. When we hit MAME version 1.0 I may just fall out of my chair. Or achieve enlightenment.

There are plenty of tracks on GT3 A-Spec which are not Fastest Lap / Fastest Race.

As Barthax mentioned in the above post, their are other tracks descriptions in this game that are not Fastest Lap or Fastest Race. For instance, there are some specific to simulation mode (License Test) and arcade mode (time trial).

This request is specific to those tracks that include the description Arcade Mode-Class(C,B,A, or S)-(Course Name)-[Fastest Lap]. The information in the parenthesis are variables.

The number of tracks impacted as deduced using two separate filters ("Fastest Lap" less "Arcade Mode - Time Trials"), is approximately 234 leaderboard tracks.

There's a few other bulk minor tweaks needed to clarify the rules for other leaderboard tracks on this game. I'll request these later and focus on this batch for now.

Thanks for the info. What worries me is that this may be something that can only be resolved by manually editing each track individually - which will be a rather epic, tedious task if we're talking 200+ tracks.

Key question on this: Do you know if there are any "Fastest Lap" tracks, which won't require this edit? E.g. tracks that don't include the variables you mentioned (Arcade Mode - Class C,B,A or S). I did have a browse and couldn't find any.

If every single "Fastest Lap" requires an identical ruleset, then I think IT can resolve it back-end in one big swoop. If there are exceptions though, then it's going to need some further thought I think.

I totally understand the concern and the thought of manually updating 200+ tracks is absolutely mind numbing!

Unfortunately, "Fastest Lap" is included in the description for Arcade Mode - Time Trial tracks. There are twenty of these types of tracks (10 NTSC and 10 PAL). Here's an example of a time trial track.

If your not able to isolate the 224 tracks impacted by this request to implement a bulk change, perhaps it might be easier to process the bulk change for all 254 tracks with [Fastest Lap] and manually revert the 20 tracks back to the old rule. If that's the course or action, I would recommend removing the line about any difficulty level and adding the proper name of the Time Trial for the PAL variations, it's called Time Attack.

I can draft up revised rules for Time Trial (NTSC) and Time Attack (PAL) if the course of action decided is IT bulk change (244 tracks) and 20 manual changes (Time Trial - 10, Time Attack - 10).

Let me know if there is anything else needed to help you process this request.

Yeah, I was thinking along similar lines that we may be able to bulk-change the rules for all Fastest Laps and then individually edit the exceptions, which as you've pointed out, is just 20 tracks. My main concern is that I think we'll lose record of the original rules, but again, I can save those in advance and then add them back in. In fact, that might work quite well.

Leave this one with me and I'll discuss with the team to devise best course of action. Suffice to say it's been logged and will be resolved one way or another.

The "Track Rules" section mentions "Internal Defaults", however the internal settings noted in the rules are NOT default!
To avoid misleading submitters to this track, could we please change the wording to "Internal Settings"?

In an attempt to ask a sincere question: how many upload errors are "too many" for the form? Is the answer in the form of time? For example, what's the TTL on the session, perhaps? What rough measurement should be the key to re-navigate to the submission form and begin again?

Note: this is not a bandwidth issue at my end (the figures in the snapshot are at the time of termination & that only reflects a downturn of responsiveness from TG) and not a disconnection issue at my end (my connection has remained up for 30+ days.

considering my short single file popeye uplaod was enough to force me to completley log out and back in if i wanted a second chance, i'd see even the slightest error is "too many" and breaks it

2. Hehe, you seem to be interpreting the time not the date in the filename. The recording was started 18th October 2017 at 09:26:31 = 20171018-09-26-31.

3. Each listed item was attempted by itself. When the first one failed, I clicked Choose File and Upload. Each line indicates another failure attempted on its own.

I've managed five uploads with the new form so far. Only one has worked on the first attempt, so I can confirm there's no requirement to restart after the first.
