Aye, I'm aware of the double-post notification thing - it's been around for a long time but was particularly comical on this occasion. ;)

While you're looking at this one, could you also look at the circumstance of getting a generic error because someone's wall post has banned you from seeing it?

  3. EVN's Avatar

I get this when clicking on wall posts from one user:

    "PHP Warning: DOMDocument::saveHTML(): output conversion failed due to conv error, bytes 0x93 0x57 0x48 0x59 in ..../includes/functions.php(7089) : eval()'d code on line 37 "

I assumed it was because they put me on ignore. Maybe Admin Staff has you on ignore @Barthax :)

Barthax, who the hell would ban you from anything? I got banned by that stooge lookalike and honestly wish his blogs wouldn't even show up to even be clicked on.

LOL, how to answer without naming... Someone banned from the site with a massive ego about trivial achievements?

Say no more! He who shall not be named.. won't be.

hah i was wondering the same thing.

At least one (and i think only one but i could be wrong) person has me on ignore (and takes me off ignore to comment on my stuff then puts me back on) so I'm familiar with the error. I can read the first few lines of the post, but if i click on it to see others comments i just get the error.

Also, for other issue with notificaitons, yeah thats annoying. Both deleted posts as well as ignored posts still give notifications. I think they fixed the ignore ones. I sympathize with the deleted ones since the notification was already sent. If deleting a post has to retroactively go back and remove notifictions thats probably asking for trouble from a programming viewpoint.

Anyway, we all have opinions about stuff & other peeps. So long as we're not nasty & accept that not everyone else is going to agree with everything, we can all rub along very nicely. I know to whom Desidious is referring & I know he rubs some people the wrong way. Personally, I struggle to understand how it gets that that ignore phase. If I've got a problem with someone else then I'd rather see what arseholes are writing about my wonderful mediocrity and my infinitely trivial achievements. :D

Yep, that's exactly the circumstances I've experienced.

Yeah, the end result of this lovely bit of irony should simply be a polite page indicating the circumstances... and not an error. :D Hopefully it'll be a easy bit of coding for TG.

I feel the same way except with one single person, since we're not naming and just giving clues, lets just say a compulsive liar who always acts in bad faith, tells everyone they're going to hell, gawks at married women, and tries to ride the coattails of a has been. I realized two things (1) he's not worth arguing with (2) i cant control myself but to argue he just infuriates me so much. So i had no choice but to block him so as to avoid it. He very seldom comes here, the facebook block was needed. In most cases though i agree, most people, no matter how i feel about them, I usually figure they matter enough that i want to know what they're saying. Even if i dont respect someone here, i respect that others to respect him, and that alone makes me care about the words.

As for your mystery blocker I had the displeasure of temporarily getting along with him, and when i wanted to ditch him i didnt want to blunt as I was in no mood to be one of his targets so our "freindship" dragged on for a while. He explained to me why he blocked you. He didnt want to be banned. He also knew he couldnt control himself. So he blocked everyone who disagreed with him so as to avoid arguments. it did work for a little while.

What drama? It's been relatively peaceful these past few weeks. I don't even go to the dispute area even though there is one more score I would love to dispute.

I think it's just that the person keeps saying silly things and getting YouTube vids made about him where he can't control the narrative.

This sites functionality is hillarous though. If you want to see what's going on on a wall post you have been banned from, all you need to do is copy the link, sign out of your account and look at it annonymously.

I'd never thought to try that but yeah, that's funny. :D
