Taking offence

One of the worst aspects of online social media is that people want to take offence at the most trifling of pithy comments. You take offence, I take offence. Even the people that state they aren't offended by this post are offended that they've been left out of the post and need to highlight they're offended by not being offended. Can we all just accept the worst offenders will get kicked and the remaining set of people just accept we're offended, click Report on offensive posts & move on by not voicing that we're offended? :P

I have just reported this wall post for being offensive to those who thrive on causing offence.

i say its not social media per se so much as diverse groups. in real life alot of people choose to live in echo chambers, have a dwindling social group, and avoid any differences. This can even happen on accident as people dont explicilty try to live in an echo chamber so much as they just natrually spend more time with like minds

any area with people of many philosophies join -- and speak (thats why we dont get into fights at the grocery store, we probably are equally offended by people we shop near, but noone speaks up so we dont know) -- its gonna happen

i take such controversy (as annoying as i find it when i'm offended) to be indicative of a good thing -- the good thing being multiple points of views where decisions are constantly challenged and have to be good to continue.

I'm offended by British spelling of words like "offense", notwithstanding their existence for centuries before we bastardized (<- WITH A ZED LOL) the Queen's English XD

You can blame the Germans (Angles, Saxons, Jutes), Norwegians (Vikings), Greek (Greek translation of the Bible), Romans (Latin & Greek), French (Normans especially!) [probably missed a bunch of inflencers] and large numbers of the "Empire" and "Commonwealth" countries for an amalgamated cultured language. You guys just added the polished turd at the end. ;)

    Biscuits - dry tasteless cookies

    Scones - see biscuits above

Tea - unless sick, why would anyone drink tea if coffee was available?

Yorkshire Pudding - sounds like it should be awesome but really isn't. It's manageable with au jus but still not very good (even with the au jus assist from the French)

Blood Sausage - sounds like it's terrible and it is

To give the Brits some credit in this post, they do quite well with yards of ale and most anything drinking related... oh yeah, and shepherd's pie is pretty tasty too, so long as it's not made with lamb.

That'd be baked mashed potato if you leave out the lamb. :P
