TG MAME scores imported from MARP?

Hey everyone!

There's a currently active dispute regarding a MAME score, where the assertion is that the MAME score was imported from MARP. The basis of this assertion appears to be that, since the user is not verified currently, that the INP must have been pulled from MARP and added to the TG leaderboard.

This doesn't seem right. There are lots and lots of scores that exist for many platforms where the users are not currently verified, meaning that at one time they were actively submitting to TG but are not currently verified under this iteration of TG.com

@RTM @RaGe @Barthax @Jace Hall I'm hoping for some insight. Scores are being disputed based on the notions above. The quote from the dispute post is as follows:

"The INP was "confirmed" at MARP on the 27th October 2010, "verified" at TG on 27th January 2011.

MARP is the source."

That post can be seen here. I encourage you to read the whole dispute (very short) for full context.

Was there an import from MARP to TG for any large batch of MAME scores?

Thanks!

these are most likely not from
    the marp leaderboard
    http://replay.marpirc.net/r/ddragon
    the tg leaderboard
    https://www.twingalaxies.com/game/do...1-player-only/

due to the agression of the disputer i tried to focus only on 100%provable or disprovable things such as pre-tgsap scores not needing to belong to a member whos currently registered to exist.

prove of import or counter proof is both speculative. hwoever consider this, only two of the marp scores came over to TG. those two came over on different dates. none of the older preexisting marp scores. the two scores that did come over are by people who had accounts both at tg and marp. Does it seem more likley TG only imported two scores? or does it seem more likely two members submitted to both sites?

Martin Racine's TG Blog when he got the score in question

Good deal, so it's likely that it's the same score at MARP and at TG, but it's unlikely that any MARP-to-TG import occurred.

Barthax will know more but TG did import MAME scores very early on (early 2000s?) from different sources.
2010/2011 is definitely much later than when this occurred

I think we all realized the score in question is more likley the same score thats at marp. My objection was trying to slip in that any currently unregistred member must have had all their scores imported. this is incorrect and a false idea like that could result in other baseless disputes

No scores were imported from MARP during 2010-2011. He's unverified, because his account wasn't verified in this new era of TG. He was previously "verified" (not the method used now), and was an active member.

I appreciate the input everyone. It’s important for everyone to know how things have progressed to the current State of the Galaxies. Member participation in eras prior to the current era should never be discounted or diminished. It’s what makes the current database as great as it is. If we discounted participation prior to TGSAP the database would be a mere skeleton of what it is today.

Thanks again and keep the info coming.
