Has anyone been successful in confirming that ESI is being calculated correctly? I've been concentrating on only the top-spot calculation to be sure I'm at least getting half the picture correct but I haven't even managed that yet, probably because I've become so reliant on the computer ...

It's no surprise that people get to spend more SP than they should have with this kind of maths in play.Today's events are quite straight forward so far: start with 17SP, spend 15 SP leaving 2 SP. In the next four hours two submissions have been accepted and I'm at 21 SP?!

I'm a great advocate for the Sinclair ZX Spectrum ("Speccy") - UK's best home-grown system, IMO (and factually in many ways). Every now & then I get asked why I don't submit more for this system.

08-16-2018 at 10:55 PM (Barthax: Nothing to see here... move along.)
Since Maths Lession #2, I've received 28 SP from acceptances and spent 0SP. Based on the -8SP I started with, that'd be 20SP, right?! I did notice I got "up" to -4SP and the next acceptance (one) bumped me back down to -6SP - so I "witnessed" a discrepancy (one of many?!). ...

Most discussions surrounding the perceived shortcomings of ESI look to fix the ESI algorithm ultimately fall short of doing so and conform to a pattern of just re-inventing ESI with a bodge. I'd like to float an idea which ignores ESI entirely and instead looks at promoting areas where there is a lack ...
