Boris Johnson reveals source of data for British handling of Covid

"Our in depth modelling of the spread of the CorBlimeyVid virus, also known as Coronavirus, was based on sound intelligence gathering. We scouted many intelligent minds, placed them into two groups. One blind control group drank Corona Light while the other drank Corona Extra. Both groups then played Plague, Inc over several hours to establish the likely pattern of outbreak."

In all seriousness, stay safe folks.

While everyone was hoarding toilet paper and hand sanitizer last week, I "stocked" up on a case of Corona Extra instead on sale. The way this stock market is trading this past week, I will need to STOCK up some more this weekend!!! :P

Yep, that stock is tanking. I'm starting to think if companies had bidding wars on naming viruses, all big players would be out of business. Disney could be brought down by having a flu named after them.

Given that 'coronavirus' is just a generic term like 'retrovirus', I want to know what genius decided to call this new edition of SARS, "coronavirus disease 2019" (which is what Covid-19 actually means).

By the way, my first impression was that Boris Johnson's "source" was the opening of his fat ass.

I was curious as well, here is how they gave it it's name.

"On February 11, 2020 the World Health Organization announced an official name for the disease that is causing the 2019 novel coronavirus outbreak, first identified in Wuhan China. The new name of this disease is coronavirus disease 2019, abbreviated as COVID-19. In COVID-19, ‘CO’ stands for ‘corona,’ ‘VI’ for ‘virus,’ and ‘D’ for disease. Formerly, this disease was referred to as “2019 novel coronavirus” or “2019-nCoV”.

There are many types of human coronaviruses including some that commonly cause mild upper-respiratory tract illnesses. COVID-19 is a new disease, caused be a novel (or new) coronavirus that has not previously been seen in humans. The name of this disease was selected following the World Health Organization (WHO) best practiceexternal icon for naming of new human infectious diseases."

Yep, kind of makes me wonder why they named a pencil a pencil, and a pen a pen, and so on and so forth. I've always thought a "virus" and "disease" are completely different things. Apparently when we don't know what something is they cover literally all grounds so they can't be wrong.

Simpletons for scientific "experts", headless chickens for legislative "authorities". I do believe we are screwed.
