Recalbox: Heat Sink Mod
With the case top on, my little NES Mini clone gets quite warm. I decided to try my hand and modding to had a bit ass heat sink.
I measured the bottom of the heat sink then drilled a couple of holes. Using a dremel tool I cut out a rough hole then smothed it up with some sandpaper. Wow, what a mess. Plastic dust all over my workbench. And it was super tidy right before I started.
The heat sink came off an old CPU fan I had laying around and weighs more than the console itself.
With the heat sink on the console is about 10 degrees cooler, but with just the hole it is about 20 degrees cooler. I need to connect the bottom of the heatsink to the hot chips on the motherboard of course. That will happen tomorrow.
For now I am happy with my turbo-charged-looking mod.
