You don't even need to be as good as Todd Rogers to get this bounty! Just be the first to submit a valid TGSAP run on official NTSC hardware and get a time of 5.54.

ShareSome members have already achieved this time through TGSAP. You may want to specify that it's for a newly adjudicated submission if that's your intent. You do already allude to that - "first submitter through TGSAP gets the prize" - but it wouldn't hurt to specify that.
I know the 5.54 was allegedly claimed possible by the Activision Developers. Then there's a hacked Dragster version which disables the blowout permitting sub-5.57. Is there a claim anywhere for a genuine played attempt achieving 5.54?
Wasn't it proven, by examining the program code, that it's impossible to go below 5.57? I believe it was also debunked on the Ben Heck show
It was proven by multiple people who verified the code that a 5.57 is the lowest time possible and you only have a 1 in 8 chance of getting that with a "perfect" run. If you miss the one in 8 chance you will get a 5.61 even with "perfect" inputs. A TAS is out that has the longest "distance "achieved while getting a 5.57 and its still leagues away from a 5.54. I think this is cool but ain't happening... :D

5.57 is the fastest that can be done, for real. There's no faster.
To the GP that "know what they are talking about", this challenge popping up on the main wall is kinda cringe-worthy, like..."baiting" the past, when we are trying to cull out the bad stuff, and move on from it.
I hope somehow this is removed/retracted someday.
It's just not a good look.

Todd Roger's "time" was 5.51, which was proven to be falsified. The max record time of 5.54 is the only possible time that can be achieved. Any time less than that is impossible.
