just curious how long the voting process takes on average,
and do you get submission points if/when something gets accepted? =X

I haven't voted regularly in a long while, but it used to take up to 2 weeks depending on the system, game, submission length, etc.

Cool, and do you get submission points for having runs accepted,
or just by voting correctly on other people's submissions?

Lol, kind of new here and don't know how things work yet...

You want to try to look at a couple scores everyday, at least, start with ones that seem short, and you'll build up points n no time, and expose yourself to new games you might want to try.

Most of your "points" will be from voting on others submissions-by involving yourself in this process, you are an official Judge!

Most here don't really push for votes, it just eventually goes thru anymore, we don't have enough new users, the regulars are used to the delay in acceptance, but the more you interact with others, and pay honest attention and interest in what they are doing, the more they will reciprocate with the same behavior towards your performances.

It's NOT a "Good Old Boy's(and Gals!)Club" mentality, like some think, but it just makes sense, if you are actively involved with others, they will be actively involved with you, and friends really do mean a lot around here, you can learn and share info on levels you wouldn't believe.

This thought process is NOT mandatory for score acceptance-if a score is legit, and posted here, it WILL eventually go thru, but it really is a lot of fun just to go ahead and throw yourself into it, there are a lot of good people here, and if you find the right way to "play along", it's terribly fun and addictive to be here!

Quick, easy tip-Watch and vote on Atari 2600 subs, lol it's probably the most active community here, and the scores move fastest, so you can build points pretty quick, and find fun stuff to play!

    Good Luck!!!

One of my recommendations for getting submission points faster is to start at the end of the submission queue - the submissions that have gone the longest without comments - and start there. Work backwards, find things that interest you, adjudicate them and make some sort of interesting comment on them.

Older submissions have already had some attention and voting done on them, and bringing them back to the front makes them likely to complete soon.
