Drag Race

I just happened to park outside my local arcade at lunch today and saw this through the window. Since Drag Race/Dragster has come up recently, thought I'd drop it here in case some people had never seen one before.

I could see that "giggle joke" being made...

By someone who could play Dragster and was having silly fun with it.

    Otherwise, it's drama.

What is the point of the steering wheel?

The game plays like Game 2 of the Activision VCS game, hence the steering wheel.

Colonial Lanes, in Iowa City, had this back in the day. It was next to the Stunt Cycle :) They had a pretty good variety of games even in the 70's. My friends mom had leagues there every Tuesday and would take me and my brother. Mom would give us three bucks to spend, my first exposure to economics :)

Funspot/ACAM has a "Drag Race". Years back both Todd Rogers, Les Martin and Les' son were hammering away at it (live) and established the inaugural benchmark records (with witnesses).

Regrettably we no longer know what Todd's best time was but if I remember correctly Todd and Les' son were the top two best times recorded followed by Les' own time.
