Some items:

- We have finished the basic design of the BOUNTY CHALLENGE system and the engineering team is reviewing it. The good news is that it should not take very long to implement and make available so the team will be working hard on that to complete it as quickly as they can.

- At some point later this year, TG hopes to make available the ORIGINAL UNALTERED TG DATABASE that new TG ownership had received in early 2014 when TG was acquired. This will be for viewing purposes only. We want to do this so that for historical purposes everything can be available for public access and perhaps future study. Essentially a digital museum piece. We will place this in separate READ-ONLY section of the TG website.

That's the update for now!

Game on!

Also should add that we are nearly complete on the VERSION implementation for games. This was a major undertaking, but critical.

all pretty exciting. please take this as sincere and not a backhanded compliment. I usually read "exciting news" and it falls flat, but this really is exciting

Awesome. :D Any expansion of what the "VERSION implementation for games" is intended to mean? My programming head jumps to versioning (history retention) of the rules and their edits.

It will be interesting to see what version arrived in your hands of the old data. I often forget that re-write in 2009/10 happened under Pete B.

i thought the same thing for a few moments, but then i remembered a recent post about mobile games and they're many updates. I think this is so candy crush and the like can have differnet people playing across differnt time and properly recorded

but i do hope they do the type of versioning eventually that you just brought up

The VERSION stuff is not for rule history retention or edits. Thats a different item that we will have to address separately at some point.

It's really so that a single TG leaderboard for a game can contain listings for scores that are attributed to a particular software version/revision/update # without having to create an entirely new leaderboard. It is a filter option.

Sounds simple, but the upgrade impacts the whole TG system, starting with the submission form itself, which needed to allow the submitter to choose the version number of the game being played and etc.

Then there was the whole issue of who should be allowed to add versions to tracks. I believe we are going to allow 4000CR and higher to be able to add versions as needed.

All this version stuff is less important for Arcade (although there is some versioning there) and more important for PC, mobile and etc. as games on other platforms regularly receive updates and sometimes those updates can change the game substantially. TG needs to keep scores together that were performed on the same version.

When we roll it out, there will probably be some bugs with it since it is touching many systems, so it will be great if the community will help find the problems so they can get fixed quickly. Right @admin staff ??? :)
