As TG finishes some last functionality for the bounty system beta testing, it is preparing to do some test bounties that have some small but WORTHY prizes and such so that there is acutely defined motivation for members to compete and submit bounty claims, and stress the bounty system.

Instead of just guessing at potential prize offerings, I thought it would be a better idea to simply ASK as to what kinds of REAL prizes would be interesting and highly motivating for the community to compete for.

Awards/Prizes don't have to be just video game related. Anything reasonable should be considered. Of course we are deliberately starting small so we can test and make sure everything is working and solid. However, TG is definitely moving into its next phase.

We are focused on delivering things that the community wants, and growing the community in the process. There will be increasingly more and more tangible and unique reasons to participate here, and the members that have been here helping from the beginning building CR and SP will start to see the eventual rewards and benefits from having done so as well.

Please provide your thoughts to this thread!

Many thanks!

That is an open book and depends on how big of a prize, anything from clasic arcade poster, marquees, a neon TG sign for the arcade room would be cool! :D

Yes, I am trying to find out SPECIFICALLY, what people in the community want or would value as a reward for competing and successfully winning.

Your answers are helpful but can you be even more specific? Post a picture of something that you might want.

Again, we want to start small scale for the moment just to make sure our system is fully working, but once that is established we will make efforts to increase the scale of the rewards.

Wingstop gift certificates seemed pretty popular a few years back, especially on Settle It on the Screen. Meal vouchers from other restaurants or coffee houses would be cool as well.

I would like to see video game redemption codes on Steam, particularly for arcade type games that would inspire competition on TG.

It seems that a lot of people desire recognition for their hard work so perhaps a article about the player could be a bounty reward.

Redemption codes /credits for PSN, XBox, Switch, Steam, etc... Also Twin Galaxies merchandise like a golden coffee mug, t-shirt, or certificate.

Some actual official TG shirts would be nice. Boggles my mind why merch is just not for sale period.

TG Merch available exclusively through the Bounty System. "I won a TG Bounty and all I got was this lousy paperweight" or something not so lame. I like the exclusivity angle.

Twin Galaxies certificates since they did so well last time.

LOL I have multiple TG t shirts, hoodies, etc. All from the Right 2 Game campaign.

I'd be down with some gaming related books.

Some specific ones I've got on my list to pick up:

Tetris: The Games People Play

Power Up: How Japanese Video Games Gave the World an Extra Life

and Once Upon Atari

I'm also always down for some lego sets...video game related or not. The mini sets can make cool prizes

Invites to certain gaming events might be pretty cool!

of course things of value, have value for a reason, but something unique to tg would mean more, and be easier for you.
a few ideas

1. WIN A DATE WITH JACE HALL -- non romantic, jace has pizza and beer with you or takes you to the newest marvel movie, you get the idea
2. i'll reiterate the trading card idea
3. theres been talk of a tg book to offset not having the guiness contract. have a bounty clarify that this particular score/record will get you a guaranteed spot in the book
4. electronic badges are risky, worth consdieing, but too many start to get lame, and too few leaves a feeling of being left out, so i'm nott truly suggesting it, in fact i suggest against it, but its worth considering.

5. you could just plain have something like "cool tg bounty points" where it just creates a ladder where we can fun seeing who can claim the most bounty points

me, i want that date with jace hall

Do it like Lands End popcorn sales when I was in the Boy Scouts. If you claim a thousand bounties you get that Huffy bike you always wanted. Fewer bounties for TG branded sleeping bags etc. I’m joking sort of but also I want that Huffy to this day.

I second

1. Buffalo Wild Wings Gift cards. Cause Wingstop sucks.

2. A day in the Life with Jace Hall.

3. A guarantee invite to compete in the 1st Annual Twin Galaxies Video Game Championship.

A new controller for the system the bounty was set on... to replace the one you wore out.

Kidding but yeah, maybe try to partner with a online retro game supplier for like, money off coupon code. Make a bit of deal like, twenty buck off coupon only costs TG like 18 bucks to buy and they get to advertise they are the chosen supplier of TG. Which really helps TG out on both fronts.

- digital artwork commemorating the bounty

- a short song dedicated to the winner of the bounty (Jace made a bunch of these and is really good at it)

- a video shout out from Jace Hall to the winner

You kid but actually... this isn't a terrible idea. The amount of PS1 controllers i wore out and killed from frustration when i was doing RR was quite a few and finding a decent new controller wasn't easy even back then. Having a good solid controller with good firm buttons to perform on is really important in my view and on an older system which may be hard to find new controllers for makes this actually a good idea in my opinion.

You had me sold on this until you mentioned non romantic @Snowflake ha!

I think seeing as we are all competitive and driven to succeed.. as cliché as it may seem how about TG medals/trophy's for winning. If value is a concern to many then you could make it contain a gem or precious metal perhaps. This also gives a larger scope of achievement as gems and metals can be extremely high value to fairly low but still worth at least something. You could also date it and make it annual.

Other then that I'd echo what everyone else is saying, gaming related gear and TG merch. Perhaps some rare retro stuff or one off collectors pieces? The list is endless in that respect.

I had no idea TG and Guiness cut ties but then I've not been around for a while.. when did this happen?!
