We are very pleased to reveal our latest upgrade to the Twin Galaxies site!

You will notice that there have been some significant across-the-site changes made to the platform that help to improve the flow, utility and function of TG.

Please keep in mind that the full upgrade has not been totally completed and work is continuing as this is being written, however it has reached a point where we are comfortable turning on this initial first stage and working through the various bugs and optimizations.

Over the next few days you will see many adjustments being made to what is currently being presented.

The submission and voting areas have been significantly improved and we hope that the community finds the changes to be helpful. With that being said there is more to come in that area, as a Dashboard (similar to the one found in the Bounty section) is planned to be added to make it much easier to track/follow all your voting activity on the site.

There is also a major update in progress for the WALL FEED, so you should expect more improvements there as well!

The way we develop these improvements, is by doing it off site on a duplicate system, then we bring those changes over to the main site. The main site is always a little different than the test site, so once we bring stuff over to MAIN, we need to spend time doing optimizations and bug fixing. So we are doing that now with these upgraded sections.

Please report any bugs you find (related to this upgrade) to this thread so we can address them as quickly as possible!

We would like to take a moment to gratefully thank @admin staff and the entire engineering team for their incredibly hard work on this upgrade! This represents a tremendous amount of work over many months to accomplish. The Twin Galaxies platform is very complex underneath the hood as it performs many functions, and making these massive system-wide changes to the platform is no joke!

Hopefully the community appreciates their great efforts and enjoys the continuing improvements that the entire team works to bring to the total experience.

Obviously, nothing is perfect and there is much more to do, but please know that Twin Galaxies is appreciative of the community's passion and participation, and continues to work hard to do its part in making this place the most premium and special experience it can be for video game achievement recognition!

Onward! More exciting stuff soon! This is just the beginning!!

I have some community questions:

1.) Should we default the website to DARK MODE? It currently defaults to LIGHT MODE.

2.) The Submission "Tiles" are currently allowed to be dynamic in HEIGHT/LENGTH based on their content. This produces a more organic looking submission feed, where the tiles are not all aligned with each other in a GRID. This format allows more information to be displayed and perhaps more of a perception of "fun" in the submission process and participation.

However, should we make all the submission "tiles" be of a FIXED HEIGHT/LENGTH which would make every tile the exact same size and thusly produce a GRID layout in the submission area? A format like this would show less information but look MORE ORDERED ON A GRID.

Some people may feel the "organic/dynamic" look feels "sloppy and disorganized" and prefer a highly ordered GRID experience.

Other people may like the more fluid look we are currently using.

What do you think?

On a separate note - There are some small things that have still not made it over from the test site, such as the top informational banner that should be on the Submission page which provides a new user with more context of what they are looking at.

Currently, when you are not logged in to TG, the submission section is used as the HOME PAGE. Do you think having a simple top banner on the submission section is enough for new users to know what TG is and want to participate, OR, do you think TG should have an entirely different HOME PAGE that is more like THIS (https://nft.coinzoom.com/liithos/) that you have to click through to see any submissions or activity?

What are your thoughts there?

Impressive, the site is a lot better than before.

I did just go over to the submission page and had to double take. The colors and the "sloppy look" was a bit of a turn off. Also I kind of enjoyed the old look when clicking into the sub and having the vote at the top along with what the position of the submission is, I either missed it or the rank of the sub was missing. Dark mode should be default :-)

Question

1. On adjudicating Twin Galaxies members video game submission, we just view and then vote, no more leaving a reply.

2. Are we allowed to reply to thread, the reason I ask I could not find where you can make a reply to leave a comment?

3. Did Twin Galaxies do away with Twin Galaxies members making replies on video game submissions. Why?

I know some of the reasons is to curtail potential debates, arguments and things that have nothing with video game submission.

Just noticed that when i click my notifications bell it takes me to the bounties page ??? Seems the "frame" for the bounty is a bit too large and overlapping the bell and other icons.

Ya, obviously I am gonna have to figure this out to continue to stay at the place I love the most, but this sucks ass,

Just change it back.

This sucks, and is no good.

Holy crap.

Things dont HAVE to change if they are fine.

This sucks.

You may need to refresh your browsers cache?

If you could provide more detail or screenshots we can work to address it.

We will need to make it more obvious, but click here to reply on a submission (if it doesnt have any replies yet):

I think Roger is talking about this, check the capture picture.

Have a few questions about video game adjudication and confirming that you already voted.

4. Before Twin Galaxies members knew they had voted on submission now the only way to see that voted on is to go back in and is shows that you voted on it already. Twin Galaxies did away that to?

Thank you

Yes you are right. Looks like some code did not make it over yet. @admin staff please fix!

It should look more like this:

Hi,

The section where how many likes, blog entries, follows and followers you have is blank, when viewing a submission (https://www.twingalaxies.com/showthread.php/256003-PlayStation-2-Def-Jam-Fight-for-NY-NTSC-Story-Chopshop-VS-Warren-G-Purse-1-875)

Thank you

So you feel we should move to a GRID format?

The engineering team is currently sleeping, and when they wake up they will fix all these items. Please continue to outline all the issues here in this thread so we can have them fix as much as possible!

Also curious, what color gradient would you prefer if you are turned off by the current choice?

We can use anything you see here:
